Daft Question- Baseline scan

Hi

Daft question for the IVF'ers out there,

what is a baseline scan? what is the point ? what will happen after? why did it needed to be booked inbetween day 5 and 10 of my cycle ? and why didn't i ask this when i was sat there infront of the specialist?

lol

I just freeze infront of the doc and come out clueless !!

I am so hoping that the IVF will start up soon, btw I am at the oxford fertility unit anyone else?

Hi Charlie,
I have my baseline scan in two weeks, but we were not told that it had to be cd5-cd10!!
Im not really sure why they do it, I guess its to see whats going on in there.

Hi,

I had my baseline scan on cd7, basically they will be checking the lining of your uterus is as it should be, my clinic also did antral follicle count and they used this count to decide how much stimming drugs to give me.

I know what you mean, several times I left appointments and as soon as I got in the car I thought 'oh no' I didn't ask them this or that, its so much to take in.

i dont know the answer to your question, but, in the future write down all the questions you have for your dr. before you go in there. IT HELPS lol

Hi Charlie we are going to the Oxford fertility unit too! I have to have the baseline scan but the doctor didnt say what days it had to be on. It was only when I called to book the receptionist told me it had to be between days 8-12! Weirdly, Ive booked it for day 14 and she said 'that should be ok' but if it wasnt they would do the scan before I started treatment??? very weird. Whens ur scan? Do have a start date yet? x x

baseline, SA and 2 hour consultation is on the 11th march,

how soon after that do you start downregging ?

no start date must admit went blank didn't ask any questions and now clueless, just sat open mouthed staring at the doc !!!
