Damaged tubes can you still get pregnant naturally?

Hi Axl, mini IVF usually involved less medical than the regular IVF. It is easier on your body, supposedly. Also the $10k for IVF does not include assisted hatching and ICSI, I think. You better check with your RE. With assisted & Icsi, it'd be around $12k - $13k. Then there is the cost for medication which is roughly around $3k. Plus, the RE visit fees every time you see the RE. I'm not trying to be a know it all. I was thinking that the IVF was going to costs $10k and agreed to do it until I talked to the financial person. Sticker shock #1. Sticker shock #2 was the cost for the meds.

Good luck with the process. I'll be happy to share my experiences if you have any questions :)

If only IVF was covered by insurance :( I really wish it was. They say it's an experimental thing so that's why it's not covered. Or that's what i've been hearing. I have a question, did you conceive thru IVF or did you not go through with it because of the prices? Thanks for your knowledge on the subject, it's informing to me and it will be really informing to Axl.

Hi I was told by the dr $10,000, but I'm expecting it to cost $15,000. In Alberta IVF is a right off. I'm going to see if my benefits will cover some of the cost of meds.

The government should also cover IVF not everyone can come up with $15,000 and travel to the clinic.

When I see the dr at the IVF clinic I'm going to ask all kinds of questions.

Thanks for the info Ilovetomatoes.

Axl, looks like you have excellent coverage! Yaay. Also, not sure if you follow Cheetah's post. But, I wss told that I needed to have tubal ligation to prevent hydrosalpinx and ectopic pregnancy due to the blockage.

Some states in the US requires IVF tobe covered by insurance. Unfortunately, California is not one of them. Darn it!

Cheetah, I will start IVF at the end of Oct. There is no other option at this point even with the sticker shocks :).

Ilovetamotoes I might have to get my tubes tied too. Not sure until I talk to the drs at the IVF clinic. We still have to pay for everything up front so that sucks. I hope everything works out for you with the IVF. IVF should just be covered.

Hahaha, I know we're talking on 2 different threads but I just had to ask real quick...where did the hydrosalpinx come from? Did you always have that? I'm very excited for you :)

Thanks Cheetahspotss I will for sure keep you updated.

Hi Axl2,
I hope I can give you some hope too. After trying for a baby for 4 years and not having a whiff of a bfp the re recommended a lap which happened in November 2013. He found my tubes were scarred and stuck together but he managed to push dye through. He told me the chances of conceiving naturally were slim and ivf was our only option. We were scheduled to see the ivf specialist on March but I had my bfp 3 months after my lap. Unfortunately, my baby was poorly and didn't make it so we are trying again. I am currently taking a supplement called serrapeptase and nattokintase which is supposed to eat dead scar tissue and some ladies have had great success with it. I have a hsg this month to see if my tubes are still clear otherwise we are going for ivf.
Good luck xxx

Hi Happyshopper, thanks for the response!! Hope this works for you let me know. Yeah I'm waiting for the letter from the IVF clinic. I had told my husband that I wouldn't do IVF, but here we are doing IVF. I'm hoping this works don't know if I could do it again. But if it doesn't work we will be looking into adoption.

Axl
