Dark nipples

i have been breast feeding for 5 months now- (since my baby was born- she wont take a bottle) but i few things have changed recently that get me worried. First my nipples finally healed after a crack that lasted the whole time! but now when she finishes nursing- the tip of my nipple is dark purple- almost black! the doc said i dont have good circulation to the tips- but it never did it like this before-
Second problem: Kayla doesnt latch on for more than 5 minutes anymore- try as i might i cant get her to do it- she will go 2 hours in between feedings and only eats for 5 minutes- not sure if this is normal or not- she is a small baby and i dont want her to lack in nutrition because she wont eat- any suggestions? or is this normal for her age? anyone know?

Some babies are just fast eaters and will take all they want in 5 or 10 minutes. If she's satisfied after that and gaining weight ok (even if she's small) I'm sure she'll be getting enough. If her poo is still mustardy yellow (if you haven't introduced any other food?) then she should be getting through to the hindmilk.

As for the nipple colour - I've never had that when I'm feeding Sam, but when I pump it happens all the time - it looks bruised on the end...kind of blacky purple...but it does fade. It doesn't hurt does it? I always thought it was just because I was pumping so hard! It's never bothered me so I just ignore it - maybe Kayla does just suck very hard!

My boy sucks for 5min and is finished.He sucks hard+fast.He is gaining weight nicely.My flow is obviously fast,so maybe your breasts have fast flow too?

i am not sure if i have a fast flow- i dont pump too often actually barely ever- and when i do i dont get very much- but kayla wont drink from a bottle so pumping is a waste! maybe she sucks hard though- i guess i shouldnt worry too much- thanks!
