DASH diet anyone?

I was given a book on the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet and ti looks awesome, save for one thing: I am artificial sweetener intolerant. The ONLY one that my body can handle is agave syrup. All the others make me feel ill, some quicker than others. The diet suggests using fruit to sweeten, but I don't really want that in my coffee.

Any advice?
