I feel like this pregnancy so far has been nothing but stressful :(
I'm sorry if this is long but i want to explain it all

LMP: March 21
DH and I dtd: April 1&2 and April 7&8. He was on a trip from April 3-7.
Positive test: April 13
1st Beta on April 14 came back at 18
2nd Beta on April 17 came back at 101
3rd Beta on April 19 came back at 314
Last Beta on April 24 came back at 1967

Dr wanted me to come in for an early ultrasound so he scheduled it for today(April 28) to check for viability.

I had an ultrasound at a different office on April 24 and it showed just a little circle in my uterus and i was measuring 4w5d. Today I had my ultrasound with my regular OB and the sac was MUCH bigger and you could see something inside of it but it was still too small to tell. I should have been 5w3d based on my LMP but I was only measuring 4w4d which is a day less than what I was on Monday at the first ultrasound. I'm freaking out. The tech said I could have ovulated later but there isn't much of a window since DH was gone most of the first week of April which is when I was pretty sure we conceived. So now I have no idea about my dates or anything. Help please :(

TWO of my babies were conceived when my OH and I only had sex 5-7 days BEFORE I ovulated. So, there definitely IS a chance that you ovulated while your OH was away and that your body kept that sperm safe to get to the egg a little later on.

Another point I wanna make is that I went to my first (viability) ultrasound when I was 9w3d along with this one. My embryo measured 7w5d. It was rough and didn't look good at ALL (to me). Most practices assume it's probably going to be non-viable if the embryo is 14 days small, and mine was 12 days small, so REALLY close. I'm now almost 28 weeks along, and my baby caught up to weeks before I got to 12 weeks along (using my original dates).

I really hope that you run into the same luck I did and that your embryo is just fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

Thank you for your comment! That is a possibility but doesn't really make sense when I got my positive test. I believe it was already pretty early so I don't think it would be possible for me to have implanted later and gotten my positive when I did :(. I'm trying to be positive but I just kind of feel like I should be prepared to expect the worst news at my next appt

Don't start worrying just yet. Those U/S were done way too earlyin my opinion and will only cause you to stress. My fertility specialist told me at 5 wks, they wouldn't see anything that was telling, and would much rather see me at about 8 weeks. However, I ended up spotting at 6wks3days and went in for an early scan 2 days later. You could hardly see anything there, but I was lucky to get a HB. I'll attach pictures. My avatar pic is my second ultrasound at 8wks5days.

My scanphoto today looks closer to your 6 week scan but only measured 4w4d. They saw like a white little dot in the sac but couldn't say what it was.

Praying that it was just too early for the scan. When will they bring you back in for another scan?

I'm hoping it was just too early. I have an u/s with the dr I had last Monday again THIS Monday. And then I go back on may 10 to my regular OB who did the scan today. My husband thinks that the first dr messed up measuring because it just doesn't make sense that the sac grew but my weeks didn't?

I wish you all the best on Monday. If you google 5w3d ultrasound, check out the images and most only have a small yolk sac inside the placenta. Compare it and hopefully it'll give you peace of mind. Please let us know how it goes Monday.

P.S. I forgot to mention that based on your BFP your dates should be right, since a later ovulation would make it almost impossible to get a BFP when you did.

Thank you I'm hoping it's better news but I'm preparing for the worst. I actualky googled images for my scan last Monday (if going by the date today I would have been 4weeks exactly on Monday) and the images looked exactly like my ultrasound. I also googled images for 4w4d and they looked the same as my scan today. So I guess only time will tell :(

So based on my dates...say if the sperm stayed alive for 5 days as fertilized the egg on the 6th...still not possible for a positive test when I got it?

The first thing I thought is you had the two scans at two different places, at that early gestation there's so much margin for error with measuring, then add in different ultrasound equipment and technician and I don't think you need to worry at all.

Yeah they were at two different hospitals! Thank you that makes me feel a little better. My husband has said the same thing but I'm still nervous :(

And it wasn't even an ultrasound tech that did the scan at the original appt on Monday it was the Dr. and she was having issues with the machine as well

nothing you have said is reason to worry yet x

I had 2 scans 4 days apart, 1st one I should of being 6+5 was dated 6 weeks, baby had crl of 4mm with heartbeat, was an internal scan, 2nd one, dated me 7+3 should be 7+1 baby had crl of 12mm this was an abdominal scan, just goes to show how much of a difference early scans can show. I was told by the midwife at my 1st scan, early ultrasounds are so difficult as they are so small, I'm sure all is fine hun xx

Thanks so much ladies. All of this makes me feel better

Myheart, wow! That's insane how different they were. Glad to know it's normal

:hugs:

I agree with the other ladies, it's too early for worrying.
I had an ultrasound early on which showed an empty sac. Of course, we panicked. Four days later we went in, baby was there but measuring two weeks behind. We went in another two weeks later and baby had caught up a little, was then measuring a week behind.
Just been for another scan this morning and we're still a week behind the dates LMP gives us but it's a healthy wriggling lil baby in there so  not really sure what went on.

Hope it goes well for you :flower:

I have always thought that was much too early to have a scan.

I had a mmc at 10wks baby stopped growing at 6+4 I could barely see anything on the ultrasound all I knew was it definitely wasn't 10 weeks which I should have been (I seen my daughter at 9 weeks and she was much bigger and moving around).

I really want a scan earlier to confirm all is ok this time round but I won't be going in until at least 8 weeks so the measurements etc are correct and they can see more.

I hope all is ok for you x
