Dating scan info needed

Hi,

Got my appointment for my dating scan but couldn't attend because of prior commitments (good reasons, not that I can't be bothered). The next available appointment they could offer falls in my 14th week. I've read the dating scan should be between weeks 12 and 14. Does anyone know whether having the scan late will be a problem?

It wont be an issue, if anything you get to see more, especially if you had a good 8 week one! x

Depends if the dating scan is supposed to double up as a Nuchal Scan at your hospital - if so the nuchal fold needs to be measured by 13+6 to accurately assess the risk of Downs xx

Thanks a lot. The dating scan here isn't used for NFT - in fact we don't get a NFT scan unless you're over 40 (so I miss out by less than a year!). It's annoying because NHS advice is that all women should have a NFT scan, but out local services are just too strapped for cash!
