Day 21 bloods - ok to go day 23 instead with short cycle?

Hi Ladies

This is my first post in this part of the forum. I saw the doctor today as we've been trying now for 1 year +

I've to get 21 day bloods done but this month day 21 falls on a Sat. Doctor said to go later rather than earlier if this was the case but I've a fairly short cycle - 25 days.

Would having a short cycle make a difference to when i should go? I wouldn't get an appointment until the Monday which would be day 23.

I don't want to get a weirdo result just cause I've gone a bit late but then I don't really want to put it off for another month.

I'd be grateful for any advice!

It should be fine, they need to wait to see if your progesterone levels rise by 7dpo, which they assume would be cd21. It's silly really, if someone ovulates on cd 21 or later than that, it wouldn't be accurate. (mine weren't.)

But since you don't have a longer cycle, you should be fine getting your bloods done on cd 23.

I tend to get positive OPK day 12/13 so probably ovulate day 13/14. I'm not charting temps.

I couldn't check for replies on here as I was at work today so I ended up booking an appointment for the Friday cause there were none for the Monday. That will be day 20. if the test is supposed to be done at 7dpo that probably was a bad idea! The last 2 months I got positive OPK on CD 13 so if this month's the same I'll be too early.
