Well I haven't officially started a thread on this (in case it stopped working--didn't want to jinx myself). But Hannah is now taking her daytime naps in her crib 
After all the problems we've had I can't believe we've managed this! Once we figured out her comfort item it really wasn't hard to get her in her crib for her naps. Whenever we notice she's tired one of us takes her into her room and stands and rocks her until she's almost asleep than sets her in her crib (on her side or on her tummy) and off she goes! It's not always easy, if she gets overly tired we have problems getting her down, and we do have to resettle her throughout the day if she wakes prematurely. But I went from ALWAYS holding during naps to this! Major improvement. *fingers crossed* that it keeps up (and hopefully gets even better--longer naps alone etc.)
