Slightly confused as to why the mother would help the son collect snake eggs, put them in a container & then put them in the bottom of his wardrobe in the first place though?

From the story I read I got that he had done it on his own and his mom didn't discover them until after they had hatched.

There appears to be a few conflicting stories actually. One says he got them all on his own, one says the mam gave him the container & left him to do whatever he was doing, one says she helped put the eggs in the container etc.
