Hi everyone,

I'm 5w3d pregnant after two mcs and am having a hard time not driving myself crazy with anxiety at the moment.

Had an early scan at the start of this week and they saw a gestational sac and yolk sac but no fetal pole yet - told me not to worry as that is normal at this stage. But obviously I am still worrying a lot about that, and of course about every symptom or lack of symptom as well. But now, not only that but I've started to worry that all the worrying might cause me to mc again.... :dohh:
I feel like such an idiot but I have no idea what to do about it.

So, what I was wondering is if anyone who's been in the same situation has any good ideas about how I can stop myself stressing so much. Sometimes I get so overcome with anxiety that I am literally shaking - and I know it's ridiculous because I'm not normally an anxious sort of person.

Thanks

Elli

I am feeling the EXCACT same way!!!!!!!!!! Every little twinge makes me go "OMG IM LOOSING THE BABY!!!!" Then today I kept thinking that I was worrying so much I was going to loose the baby that I will loose it! ERGH! Its so frustrating because no one can give you any answers this early on and my lab went and screwed up my tests and took urine instead of blood so i wont even know what my HCG levels are until tuesday if I am lucky!

I keep saying though "one more day without blood is one more day pregnant"

hi ive also had 2 mc and to be quite honest i dont knowhow ive managed theese past couple of weeks, id like to say it gets easier but the thoughts still there with me each day that I may loose the baby. I have a scan next week so im trying to focus on that.
Have you got anything exciting you may doing this week that you could focus on? maybe that would help? sending you :hugs: and hoping third time lucky 4 us!

Thanks for the replies. Sorry to hear you guys sound as stressed as me, but it's reassuring to know I'm not alone.

Like you say VGibs, no-one can give you any answers at this point, and it's not like if you noticed something was wrong you could do anything about it, so worrying does no good at all. But clearly I am not capable of being that rational at the moment

I've got another scan booked for Monday. The first time for me was a missed mc so going for scans is always pretty scary so I'm gonna try and find something nice to distract myself with today. I'm feeling so tired at the moment I don't have the energy to do very much, but dh suggested we take a drive out to the coast (just a few miles away) to get some fresh air, so that should help.

Wishing you guys all the best and sending big :hugs:

Sorry to hear you're stuggling Elli. As V says, every day is an achievement. Though no blood may be of little comfort with a history of MMC... scans will always be terrifying.

See if you can find some relaxation exercises on the internet... I have a pregnancy yoga DVD which I really need to do more often - it includes relaxation exercises and really helps.

No fetal pole that early is definitely normal though - tell yourself that your pregnancy is progressing normally as often as you can, because medical evidence is telling you this is the case. Positive thinking is a wonderful thing x

Hi,

I would highly recommend acupuncture for anxiety. It really helps me. Although I am paying privately I know that you can get acupuncture on the NHS so maybe your doctor can refer you?

Hang in there.
