My doctor message me back asking me why do I need one done. Omg that I can take a urine test. What should I say? Should I say I just want to check my HCG or what can I say?
I've been checking NightFlower's journal too and it's unusual for her not to respond.@annie00 i see it for sure! Hope it gets darker for you!
@thencomesbebe I'm very worried about NightFlower too. I fear the worst xx

Awww will be here ready to give her our support.I just heard from her, she is okay, she is feeling down, I will let her update everyone when she can.
I'd say I'm concerned about how far I'm along in my pregnancy because this was an unplanned pregnancy and you'd want to have your HCG checked to see how far you are. Also maybe just mention the age issue there. Usually for women 40 and above, most doctors can understand the additional reassurance required. It all depends if your doc does HCG blood draws. Ask them if they do it for any circumstance and if they say for "special" circumstance, just say you think this is a special circumstance. Failing which, ask them where you can go to get a HCG draw. But if your HPTs are progressing well, I wouldn't worry about and just wait for the first scan to see the heartbeat
If you tell your physician that you had an irregular cycle and that you are trying to determine how many weeks pregnant you are, they may be more willing to order a beta HCG.My doctor message me back asking me why do I need one done. You definitely can determine how many weeks pregnant you are by a beta HCG. There is a qualitative HCG blood test, which purely states negative or positive. There is also the beta/quantitative HCG which provides a numerical value. There is tons of data out there that assign certain number ranges to each week of pregnancy. Your doctor is just being resistant. She didn't want to do it, she said it wasny necessary. That it wouldnt detect how many weeks I am. Is that true? I thought that you would be able to. So instead she said that I can just go in for a urine test. I dont think there is no need since I tested 2 days ago at home with a digital and is still positive. I guess it will finally hit us when we see the ultrasound.
She said that I will get a phone call to set up my appointment so she isn't going to do it.If you tell your physician that you had an irregular cycle and that you are trying to determine how many weeks pregnant you are, they may be more willing to order a beta HCG.
I sense that too!! I don't understand why is it so hard to approve it. I even explained with my last pregnancy they went based on the lmp and they scheduled me and appointment too soon. I went when they assumed that I would be 7 to 8 weeks based on my lmp. When they did the ultrasound it showed that I was only 5 weeks or so and scared me so bad by telling me that I would miscarry. About a week later they did another ultrasound and by then it showed that I was 7 weeks 1 day and everything was fine. I knew exactly when I had ovulated and conceived so I knew they were off. This is why I feel so nervous and I dont wan to go through that scare again. I don't think is that hard to listen to the patient and approve a blood test is it smh. So definitely I am going to look into maybe seen another doctor. Thanks so much for all the feedback! You can definitely deter

I hope you try to get another doctor to do a beta for your peace of mind. The same exact thing happened to me and they basically told me that I was going to miscarry and I did end up losing the baby in Feb this year. They made me wait til I was 8 weeks for the u/s and I firmly believe that if they had listened to me from day one and did betas, testing, and early u/s, gave me progesterone and treated me the way my fertility doctor treats me that I wouldn't have lost the baby. I will never go back to that doctor, and I am so glad that I am back under the care of my fertility specialist!!! 2dpiui and starting progesterone suppositories tonight!! FX and baby dust!!!She said that I will get a phone call to set up my appointment so she isn't going to do it.

Thank you it's gonna be a long 8-10 days!@ thencomesbebe sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Is such a nervous feeling not knowing what to expect. Especially when doctors dont listen carefully to our concerns. I am glad I found this place to support one another in our journeys. Tons of sticky and baby dust to you!!

Hi Ladies!Hi ladies! I thought I would start a December thread!! I've never done this before and I'm not exactly very active on BnB, but it can't be that hard to moderate a testing thread, so here goes!!! Here's sharing with you a beautiful verse.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights." James 1:17
Praying that each of us receives our good and perfect BFP by Christmas!
