My period is due on my birthday in just over two weeks. I'll be spending it with family, and as I get really bad cramps and some heavy bleeding, I don't fancy sitting on a bus with these cramps. I also don't want feeling crap to ruin my time away.

DF and I have been TTC since June 2013. I went to my doctor today and he gave me Primolut (norethisterone) to delay my period. It's to be taken around 3 days before your period is due to start, 1 tablet to be taken 3 times daily. He gave me a week of it (I should bleed around 1-2 days after stopping it). He told me to take it on my own initiative - they usually don't recommend ttc'ers take it, in case one taking it happened to be pregnant. He also said it may throw off my usual cycle (28 days) for a month until it gets back into a routine.

The day I'm due to start Primolut, I will be 11dpo, and will do a FRER. Hopefully it'll be positive and I won't need to worry about my period, but if it's negative, I'll start Primolut.

Have any of you lovely ladies every had experience and side effects with it?
How were your cycles after; did they take long to return to normal?
Was your next period normal or heavier?

Thanks ladies
xoxo
