Hi.

I never experienced anything quite as intense as you are but the side effects (or at least most) usually disband after ovulation. Sucks when your man doesn't understand though. Can Yiure not print out some information for him to read?

Good luck. X

I have pretty bad asthma and did find that the clomid made it worse! I am now on advair, Singulair and proair and its better under control. Definitely talk to your fertility specialist and your regular dr because if you're having trouble breathing your body will have a hard time getting pregnant so it might not work! I also had insomnia and hot flashes, but they came and went at different parts of the cycle

Princess- You were saying that usually symptoms go away after O- but when does O usually happen? CD12 here and still a blank OPK, but when I used to ovulate it was always between CD 17-26. Should I expect it sooner or later? The doctor didn't say anything about when, just that I have to get blood drawn on CD21. (So I would guess I'm supposed to O by then??)

I was scanned at CD11 and told I would ovulate in the next 3-4 days. AF always came around CD28-29 so I guess they were right.

I have never used OPK's and don't even know where to start with them so I really wouldn't like to offer any advice on them. Bloods done on CD21 should tell you if you ovulated or not though.

When I was on clomid, I had very intense hot flashes, mood swings from hell, and horrible headaches that would last several hours. I had insomnia, but I'm not sure if that was a result of being hot from the hot flashes. I can't sleep when I'm hot. Our bedroom has to be chilly for me to sleep. I ended up taking the medicine in the mornings because if I took them at night, I wouldn't sleep. By the time I went to bed, the side effects would taper off enough to where I could get a reasonable amount of sleep.

Do you take yours at night or during the day? I would talk to your doctor about altering the time of day that you take them. It helped me out after the first couple of months. Also, you didn't mention what strength you were taking. Maybe you can talk to your doctor about the side effects and see what he/she says about altering the strength. HTH!

:hugs: to you! :flower:

Princess Lou- I wish they would do a u/s scan for me. I asked the nurse today if there was going to be any monitoring of how I'm responding and could I get an u/s and the nurse said, "No. Our clinic does not do that kind of thing," like only stupid clinics would do THAT. Mind you, it's not that they don't do ultrasounds, because I already had one to check for PCOS, but they don't do any Clomid monitoring at all. I've been thinking of switching doctors (again), so maybe I will check out another clinic.

As an insomniac, you have my sympathies. Problem with sleep aids, is they can effect conception. I have nothing to advise on that I'm afraid.

It seems to me that only stupid clinics won't do scans. If I hadn't been monitored on the Clomid (every month) I wouldn't have been made aware of the OHSS and other issues that Clomid causes. Plus, how do they know it's working of they aren't doing any monitoring at all (blood etc)?

Sounds like she doesn't know what she's talking about. Lol. Is it a fertility clinic you are with or normal GP?

This month was my first cycle of clomid too. I had horrible side affects as well. I had the WORST migraine I've had in my life from the first day of provera until a week after my last day of clomid. It was terrible. I had hot flashes that lasted forever, I was nauseous all the time and I felt so exhausted but I didn't have the shortness of breath problem or the inability to sleep. It will get better. I just kept telling myself that it will help me get pregnant. Good luck!
