My HV Kate is a really lovely lady and reassured me and talked to me like a human being! I've heard horror stories about mean HV's but mine is lovely don't worry hun, I'm sure yours will also.

Aww you poor love ... There are plenty of hv horror stories on here too!

.... But my hv is wonderful . I sometimes think her advice re: lo is a little off sometimes, but I can completely open up to her, and have done on several occasions. Hv's are not so scary now adays, and I think the horror story hv's are probably few and far between

When I spoke to my HV about how I was feeling she referred me my GP (who diagnosed postpartum depression) xx

Think people cause issues with their HV to be honest as all they do in their job is to make sure baby is developing well.
Some women are just really on the defensive when it comes to their babies, my HV said many ladies take any query as a critiscism when in fact the poor HV is just doing her job!


I've got on brilliant with my HV but that's cause I act normal around her and not like she's judging me or something.
