So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the difference with delivery between SUA and non SUA babies. (SUA=single umbilical artery)

I know my doctor has told me that they will let me deliver vaginally provided LO stays head down. I'm being tracked very very closely with ultrasounds and NST's because LO also is an IUGR baby.

I know I am only 34 weeks, but as I've been battling preterm labor for the past 3 weeks and am dialated to a 3 and have been having fluid problems... basically been told that it's just a waiting game as far as delivery is concerned, if anyone knew anything about delivering an IUGR and/or SUA baby.

My doctor told me they likely wouldn't let me go past 39 weeks because of SUA, but that's it. And I won't see her for a bit still for an appointment, and she doesn't seem to be too free with information anyway. I'm scared to google it cuz it always seems to be the worst case scenarios with google.

Any help would be appreciated

IUGR and SUA usually go hand in hand. I don't have any experience with either but are they giving you steroid shots to help her lungs develope? Kinda sounds like you could go anyday now....hope baby hangs tight for a few more weeks! Good choice on staying away from Google....lots of scary stories...and often inaccurate information. Are you seeing a high risk OB?

I saw a high risk OB at 20 weeks and he informed me of the risks with SUA and did the u/s to look at her organs and everything and told me that she is very healthy and he didn't see any problems. Haven't seen him again though. I got the steroid shots a month ago when all the problems with preterm started.

But yeah, every day pretty much we hold our breath hoping my water doesn't break/contractions don't get harsh. What's really kinda odd is now I just ignore contractions unless they get painful. I don't even count them anymore.

I looked up SUA on google when they told me she had it. I wish I had never done that. Thankfully she seems to have no problems that are associated with it.

Hugs! I don't have any experience with this sorry, but I did want to say congratulations on holding your little one in there for a month longer at the least :) that's definitely an achievement :)

I was told yesterday that if my fluids drop below 5, or I hit 39 weeks, I will be induced.

Have been having hard contractions all day. Hospital sent me home cuz I wasn't dialating more. Just trying to deal with contractions and random stabbing pains through my ladybits now...
