My LO has had terrible trouble with wind since birth. He started off on SMA, but on advise of HV changed to C&G comfort and used infacol, which seemed to make a huge difference.

The last 2 days, LO has been suffering really badly with wind. Seems as though he's in pain all the time.

Should I try dentinox instead of infacol and see if that makes a difference?

Can Dentinox and infacol be used together? xx

My LO used to suffer with wind, tbh I found Infacol done nothing for her so I tried Dentinox. Disaster!!! She threw up her bottle within minutes - proper projectile vomit!!! So I never used it again...

Not sure if they can be used together sorry

Have you thought about trying gripe water? It's all I use now, and it's fantastic. Sometimes I just sit my LO up and a huge burp comes out lol :haha:

We tried Dentinox and caused projectile vomiting!! Apparently though, that is very common and most babies cant cope with it because its too rich for them!
Infacol and gripe water worked for us and we gave them both together, as we bf, I use to hand express a small amount of milk and put the infacol in that and let her lap it up from a mini bf cup.
xxx

I wouldn't think they should be used together I am sure they both contain the same active ingrediant so you could easily overdoze if you used them both.

I say try gripe water, that helped my baby girl when she had colic. Infacol did nothing for her, gripe water on its own worked really good, but you can mix gripe water and infacol if needs be :) x

i tried gripe water and it seemed to upset him even more. I will just try dentinox on it's own and see how it goes. Hate seeing him in so much pain (plus obviously hate the sleepless nights :()

Have you thought about maybe changing his bottles instead? My brothers little girl has terrible wind, and they have started using doctor browns bottles which he said are helping?

changing bottles may b an idea. that is something i havent considered yet. thanks x

It may be worth a go  I think dr brown bottles are expensive, but maybe just buy one and see if you notice a difference! I use TT Closer To Nature. They seem to work well for my LO but let's be honest, all babies are completely different.

I really hope you find something that works for you :hugs:

TT closer to nature I am currently using too.

Just another point, if Dentinox can only be used 6 times a day, can I use infacol at other feeds if necessary? I have the HV coming on thurs, so will have a chat with her as well x

Ditto with the gripe water- if you are using TT atm try the variflow teats - this helped with Fynn - it might be a cheaper option.

Also there is a pose called tiger in a tree in baby massage that REALLY helps - my face book status was 'tiger in a tree saved my sanity' for a lloonnngggg time when the boys were tiny.

I will see if I can find a picture link for it brb

AARRGGHH cant find it - but basically imagine how a tiger lies in a tree - your arm is the tree branch and LO is the tiger so they lay on your arm - it really worked for Fynn x

Thanks for that. It's worth a go.

I also am already using variflow teats as he was not getting on with the others at all xx

dentinox is inert (passes through the body undigested) so it cannot be 'too rich'! Same with infacol. However if your baby already has a tendency towards sicking up, or reflux then these remedies should be avoided because as well as making wind easier to bring up they make anything in the stomach easier to bring up as well. I personally always found dentinox better; infacol works best if given at every feed, dentinox you can give it once in a blue moon and it will still work. xx

Colief is absolutley fantastic for wind we tried infacol and it worked at first but stopped someone recomended colief and its great, you can but its expensive at 10.99 but i get it on prescription now

On a personal note, I far prefer Infacol because when my LO finally does manage a burp she smells of oranges instead of burgers...

...neither seems to do much for her wind issues though :(
