I had my first depo shot in August, and am booked in to have my second in a few weeks but am seriously reconsidering. Ever since I had the shot I feel I have been in a permanent state of pmt. Bad tempered, impatient, tearful, I've also had pmt type cramps, headaches and tiredness. I'm lucky that I've had zero bleeding though.

I know these symptoms are common, but I am wondering, will they get better as I continue with the shots? I was really hoping depo would work for me - so convenient to get a jab in your butt every 3 months and then forget about it! But if this is how it's going to be then I'll go back on the pill!!

I would give it one more shot and see how it works out for you. I love depo, have been on it for nearly 10 years (apart from a break for pregnancy!) but my body did take time to adjust to it at the beginning. The biggest positive is no bleeding, I used to get such bad periods it was a relief to not have them anymore. Good luck

I had one shot of depo in April last year, I'm nearly back to normal now...

Good gosh.

I've regretted it from day one to be honest. I had no idea it would affect my mood so badly. I think I've had a meltdown every day.

My first shot was fine. My second shot was a living nightmare. The side effect list was endless i was still suffering 16 months on.

Depo is evil, really should be banned imo.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it is out of your system soon.

I have decided against my second shot and have some Agnus Castus tablets to help get my cycles back to normal. It officially runs out on Friday!

Agnus cactus for regulating cycle, hun? Ohh I read few more stories as well, favouring its use in women who have not had their periods for ages. My wife is having PCOD and hardly have her period, I think 3 times a year. So it’s making very difficult for us as currently we are TTC. Can we try AC in pcod patients? Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

Im not sure, I know that agnus Castus is good for balancing hormones and regulating cycles. It certainly worked for me when we were TTC my son.

Good luck!

I had two shots of depo and it was the worst!! Six months later I just got my af. I took the angus cactus and I think that's the only reason I got my ad back. It's defintely worth trying. :)

Glad you got AF!

My symptoms seem to be worsening. The last few weeks I have been utterly exhausted, sore bbs, extremely hungry, cramps... It's just like being pregnant!

I had a good 4 months where I was convinced I was pregnant right down to weight gain, stomach flutters and horrible heartburn that nothing would help. I was told that's "normal" after depo. It's crazy what that stuff does to our bodies. I was told this shot would help me not make my problems worse. My "af" is over already too I'm thinking that my uterus lining just hasn't built itself up back up yet but it's a start! Good luck to everyone!
