depression and wtt

Hi all, been perusing a wee bit and hope some will respond to this xxx
Here goes,
Im 30 and on meds, 150mg venlafaxine(effexor) and just stopped aripiprazole 5mg(abilify) as we have decided to try.

Only thing is im off work at the mo due to deprerssion. I have wanted to start a family for a long time and this has really brought me up(partner agreeing its time).

The docotors are telling me to wait. But coz Hes given me the go ahe3ad i feel i cant wait. Anyone got any tips about meds(antipsychotics and antidepressants). I also want to breast feed.

Im really confused because I KNOW I WANT THIS!!!!!!!!!! I dont want tot wait to try im terrified about how long it will take and I feel very unsupported by the medical team.

Ok rant over, hope i dont sound too neurotic!!1lolol

I`m kinda in the same situation as you, but have a bit longer to wait.

I am also off work with Depression and anxiety.Going back to see my Dr this afternoon and hoping to go back in a couple of weeks, once been given the ok with occ health.

I too am on tablets Citolopram, Zopocloine and amitriptyline ( sorry not too sure if they are spelt right!) We are getting married next may and want to start trying around then. It is likely that I will still be on some of the tablets then. I told my Dr we plan to start trying for a baby and he is happy for me to stay on the dose I am on now of citolpram, while I am pregnant.Ok in an ideally world I would like not to be on anything, but I have to be realistic. So maybe speak to your dr and see if you can change your med to one he feels happy to have you on rather than you having to wait to try for a baby. However I know that with me I have been on lots of different antidepressants before I found a combo that work, and I know changing them can be a nightmare and you can get loads more symptoms.

I also have major depression and may be pregnant. It wasn't exactly planned, but not prevented. Once I get a pos test, I plan on stopping the Prozac and Adderall. Already stopped Abilify. You aren't alone!

Hi, I suffer from depression and was on citalopram when I fell PG with my son. I had to come off them quickly as my doctor wasn't happy with me being on them, although I have heard that other doctors are ok with it, so very confusing! Anyways, during my actual pregnancy I was fine, I think that the hormones gave me a high or something. After having my son unfortunately I had to go back on them as we had so many other things going on at the same time that I just couldn't cope. I am now coming off them again as I want to TCC next year and want to get myself sorted, if at all possible. I think that certain drugs are ok during PG, can you speak to another doctor to get a second opinion? x

I wish you the best of luck! I also suffer from depression and anxiety but I've booked an appointment to discuss the effects of my meds (fluoxetine and seroquel) on pregnancy. I'm nervous that I may have to come off them cold turkey. I've been on them so long the idea really scares me.
