Hi Hun, I am sorry you are going through all this. I am also at the herts & Essex about to start my second cycle as the first one wasn't successful. My first cycle was on an egg share and my next is on the Nhs. Unfortunately on the Nhs you are restricted alot with what you can do. My egg share cycle had lots of options apart from sharing the eggs. It's rediculas that they are counting you down regging as a cycle but I think it's because they had to pay for the meds. Do you have to wait long for your next cycle? Sorry I haven't been of much help, I didn't want to read and run. Hope you feel better x

i didnt want to r n r unfortunately i dont have any personal experience of this in order to be much help. bt have u tried contacting your local pct pals service + explain the situation and to clarify if it is correct that this counts as 1 of your goes and if it is correct ask for clarification as to y since treatment didnt fully commence and if necessary ask about appealing procedures as this is grossly unfair that you are penalised by a subjective decisions by a dr who didnt really give you a through service as he could have at least offered to freeze any appropriate eggs for future use. well thats just how i see it. i hope you get some progress and appropriate answers

We are so in the dark with this the hospitial havent even called to ask how I'm doing sorry but very bitter with them at the moment! This is our only chance of getting a BFP with out ivf it will never happen on it's own.

We are getting GP To appeal but he doesnt hold out a lot of hope at the moment,we have to wait 6 months to try again! But now thanks to herts we only have 1 last go.

I think you should defianately contact your pct. We were told that if transfer doesn't take place then it isn't counted as a cycle! I'm surprised that the didn't collect and freeze some sperm for you beforehand. Are you able to change clinics?

i had a cancelled cycle due to poor response and because we didn't get to egg collection it doesn't count as oe of our goes, i would definitely be asking more questions, this seems so unfair

When I had my NHS go (you only get one with my PCT) we were told cancelled cycles didn't count. You need to get in touch with your PCT directly and if they aren't helpful try contacting your local MP for support in arguing your case so this does not count as a free go.

I am surprised they didn't freeze sperm after your first go, everyone I know who has required surgical retrieval of sperm automatically had some frozen for future attempts if necessary.

Good luck fighting your case and I'm so sorry you didn't have a positive experience this time.

I think this is outrageous and it should not count as an extra go. I would right a complaint letter and argue your point that you have not had the whole procedure.

This sounds completely outrageous! Given the known issues with your hubby's sperm surely they should have banked frozen sperm before hand, and I don't understand why they didn't retrieve your eggs and freeze them so you could try a FET at a later date. You should definitely challenge not only whether it counts as a cycle or not but also how you were treated on the day xx

Oh, that's brilliant news. I was just about to post here too. Now next time they have to get lots of from your OH and that'll save doing it again. Good luck.

Do you still have to wait 6 months? My PCT wait at least 2 proper AF's after a failed cycle before you may try again.
