Dessert Ideas GD

Hi all,

I'm in need of some GD friendly dessert ideas. Any suggestions would be great

Berries and yogurt.

Id be tempted to try bits of things and see how you get on. I can eat a small ice-cream cone with no affect on my B/S levels.

Muller Light yogurt (although I tend to space them out between meals rather than as dessert to help keep blood sugars stable)

Muller light yoghurts seem to work with me too, they have some sugar in it but most of it is from milk and fruit, so its better than eating choc or something x

def try this. i can ''get away'' with loads of different things that you would think is a no no. ice cream, cakes, puddings etc

its the carbs that my body struggles with

Ooh I'd definitely try sugar free jell-o with sugar free whipped cream! or sugar free pudding!

But what can you do if you are allergic to artificial sweeteners? I have a heck of a sweet tooth. But can't have most "light" things as they have stuff in that I am allergic to.

I was diagnosed with Impaired Glucose Tolerance, so am now being treated as if I have GD. So far, have been controlling with diet alone.

But I would love love love to be able to have something resembling dessert!

I find desserts hard to come by! Ones that I can actually eat without my Blood Sugar going sky high!

I had some no added sugar angel delight the other day and that was fine, which was surprising!

Shape zero yoghurts are good for me too.

Fruit salad in juice (not syrup).

No added sugar jelly.

A small bar of chocolate....dark choc is better, apparently.

Can't really think of anything else at the moment. I haven't had proper desserts for so long now
