Is anyone else having a destination wedding? I knew I wanted to get married somewhere with a gorgeous view and Illinois just wasn't going to cut it! So we're getting married at Rancho Palos Verdes, California. I'm in love with our venue! Once I saw the ceremony site and the view I just knew this was the place. Here are some pics:

Any other destination brides want to share where they're getting married?

Wow, what a beautiful location!!! I lived in LA for a while and that really is a beautiful part of the coastline! How exciting. :)

We're getting married in Walt Disney World.

This is our ceremony location:

Hello ladies!

I just popped in to say CONGRATULATIONS to you all planning a destination wedding! :flower:

Hubby and I had a destination wedding last year (Newport, R.I) and August 9th will be our 1 year anniversary. The planning was fun and that old cliche is true - it was the best day of our lives! Our honeymoon was also amazing (we went on a 10 day Caribbean cruise) and we are repeating the cruise for our 1 year anniversary this year.

Enjoy the planning ladies and I wish you all a wonderful wedding day!
We're now just starting to try and get pregnant so we are onto the next stage. :happydance:

There's something a little special about a destination wedding I think - the wedding itself teamed with the fact that you are somewhere different just gives it an 'exotic' air. You guys will have a blast!

Aww, thank you. :)

I booked us a cruise as part of our honeymoon a couple of weeks ago, just a 4 night bahamian but I can't wait!

A year today I'll be on Disney's private island, eeee.

We're actually hoping to love the cruise so much that we booked one for 2012 while aboard (get a big discount this way) and then that trip will be our 'babymoon' ;)

Hi,

I am newly engaged, we haven't finalised dates or anything yet, but we really wanted to get married on a cruise or abroad. We are still discussing yet, but I am really so excited and it will definitely be a destination wedding for us.

Disney looks so exciting, with regards to the destination weddings, what did people decide about friends and family???

A bahamian cruise sounds amazing! And I absolutely love the 'babymoon'! I must talk FI into that one haha!

so the thing with planning a destination wedding is you quickly learn people's true feelings. We invited all close family & friends and the ones who truely want to be there will be there. Unfortunately we've found out certain people will act like they care about your wedding but when it comes time to book they'll find an excuse out of it...

Good luck with planning your wedding!

We got married at DIsney in 2007. Everyone still says to this day it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Makes me feel good. I was fabulous, I wish I can do it all over again. I got married at the wedding pavillion, receptino at Atlantic Dance and dessert party at Italy's Isola.
