Hi Ladies,

We are coming up to our 3 year mark of TTC and after a few needed months off after a failed IVF I have dusted off the OPK and we are getting back on the wagon.

I have been looking on the internet for anything new that we can try. Having a high FSH (first test was 11 and then went up to 14.4) I have a diminished ovarian reserve and looking for anything to help. I have come across DHEA, can anyone tell me a bit more info on this or share any success stories?

Hi Pinkie3! I also have DOR due to premature ovarian aging and my RE has me taking 25mg of pharmaceutical-grade DHEA 3x day. I just started a month ago and supposedly it takes a few months to have an effect. DHEA is said to improve the ovarian environment in which eggs mature, in turn boosting egg quality. It also appears to reduce miscarriage rates, which are often elevated in women with DOR.

I found a lot of good info at the Center for Human Reproduction's website. Evidently they pioneered the use of DHEA for DOR-related infertility. The forum won't let me post a link but you can google Center for Human Reproduction DHEA and Fertility.

I wish I had a success story for you. Maybe I will someday. :)

Hi Pinkie3. I was on a pharmaceutical grade DHEA as well. I've been on it since since October 2013 and took it up until egg retrieval. My Doc also put me on OvaVite prenatal which in a 3 pill a day formula. 2 of the softgels were CoQ10 which also helps egg quality. This was my 2nd IVF (first with this doc) and I had 7 mature eggs with 6 fertilizing and 3 made it to day 5 blastocyst. They were transferred in this past Tuesday. My first IVF they put the only 2 (out of 9) back in on day 2 because they weren't looking so good. I don't know if I'm pregnant yet but based on the 3 embryos that made it to day 5, I would have to think the meds had something to do with it. They also put my husband on Conception RX made by the same company as OvaVite. It's a prenatal for men. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

I hope you do come back with a success story for me.

Thank you for the info, I will check out this website. I am planning on going back to fertility acupuncture next week and will discuss this with him and see what he thinks.

Good Luck :flower:
