 Exactly what the title says.

After 11 months of TTC, a chemical pregnancy, and long cycles (currently CD 97) I now find out I have PCOS. I feel sad, scared, like this is a nightmare I will hopefully wake up from. My doctor is referring me to a fertility specialist and they are starting me on progesterone for 10 days to hopefully start my AF. I need friends who are also going through this....advice, support needed. Anyone?

While I don't have PCOS I know a few people who do have it and had perfectly healthy babies :) My sister-in-law had to have IVF but got beautiful twins out of it and a few other people I know succeeded without having to go down the IVF route.

On the plus side(which may not feel like a plus side at all!) you now know what the issue is and you can deal with it and try and work out the best plan of action with a good doctor.

Wishing you all the best! and don't worry about  we ALL do it :hugs:

I know someone who has pcos but conceived NATURALLY a couple of years ago, she's trying again now for her second. Don't give up, you are getting the right treatment for it now! Good luck x

My pcos hasn't been confirmed, but my gyn suggested that. I was really worried at first, but went through some stories here and felt better. I've seen BFP charts in chart gallery, it's possible to conceive with pcos. Stats are not really comforting, but still, there are plenty of success stories!

I have PCOS and it's not all bad! I'm still in the running for our first baby but they have me on metformin and now starting clomid again to get me to ovulate. :flower:

My cousin has PCOS much worse than me and has conceived two beautiful children naturally - it seems it really varies for different women!

I was diagnosed with pcos in May. And it's not an easy diagnosis, but there are options! I was having very long cycles. I was given provera to kickstart af in July and then started clomid. Now my cycles are only 29-30 days and the side effects for me are minimal - only hot flashes. I'm going to be starting metformin because I also have insulin resistance. You'll have days where the pcos diagnosis seems like the worst thing, but then other days when it all seems do-able. It will be ok :hugs: We'll get through it together!!! If you ever feel like you need someone to talk to about it all, feel free to send me a message. We will get our bfps! :happydance:

It's not as bad as the internet makes it seem. Metformin does wonders for women with PCOS, I have been on it for 4 months and have gotten used to the side effects. If you get prescribed it, which you most likely will, ask for the extended release kind and it will help with the illness associated with it. My sister-in-law conceived naturally with BAD PCOS and is 25 weeks pregnant with healthy baby. It may take a little longer but it CAN and WILL happen for you!!
