Sorry if TMI but I've had the worst tummy this week! The doctor said she cant give me anything and I have to do a 3 hour drive today! Anyone have any safe remedies to stop it? I'm terrified of leaving the house at this point!

TIA

My doctor actually said Imodium AD is safe during pregnancy. I used it during my first, and occasionally with this one. I wouldn't be able to function without it(IBS and no gallbladder=constant upset tummy)

Thank you for this!! I will have to go and find some I think. I feel like it has something to do with my diet because I've ben eating nothing but home made vege soup for the past couple of days and I feel much better!

Depends if it's a tummy bug or just general pregnancy symptom? If it's a tummy bug then you're better off leaving it be as trying to block yourself back up will only make the problem worse. If you think it's just pregnancy / diet related then there are a couple of things you could try....

Unripe bananas are good for diarrhea, the slightly greenish ones. Don't eat over ripe ones (with brown spots) as they will make it worse. Wholemeal bread, rice, pasta etc should help too. All Bran cereal pretty good too.

Have you been drinking milk? I find that my stomach is less tolerant of dairy when I am pregnant so have to go easy on milk, I usually switch to almond or soya where possible. Cows milk gives me the runs!

And of course make sure you are drinking plenty of water to replace the lost fluids. x

I was going to say the same thing, I can't drink milk when I'm pregnant! It's pretty common actually. :hugs: Hope you feel better!!
