i wasnt offered anything and almost 3 weeks later im still leaking like a good one...annoying because Ollie wouldnt latch on and now he's got his mojo with formula i dont really want to express (is this bad?? sounds it!) sorry im not really any help but i'll be keeping an eye on this thread because i may speak to the HV about it xx
I thought that they refused to give any medication to stop your milk now as they try to encourage everyone to BF, even if you have trouble (except in tragic cases of baby not surviving etc)? I can't be of any help I'm afraid, I've just never heard of any one being given this. PS I FF myself so am not being judgy!
I've never been given a tablet to dry them up and I've had four.. I do think it tends to be for tragedies as the OP said before..
I have heard of it, but that's because my dad asks a few weeks after every baby - 'They given you anything to dry you up yet? You don't want to get infected' - slightly embarrassing!
However if you're having trouble with them being sore and swollen while you're waiting for it to dry up, then a cabbage leaf inside your bra will help. (Refrigerated is even better - strange but true)
My baby was going to be up for adoption but I went and got him back the day after so that's why they gave me it when I asked for it. The tablet worked but I've now got drops of milk.
o i didnt realise that it was only in special cases you got these (silly me!) probably best not to ask the mw and just put up with the leaking in my case then xx
