My DS is 7 weeks old. Normally at night he wakes every 2-3 hours to feed still and settles down after eating.

Last night we got the woombie hoping it would help him sleep longer, and he ended up waking every 1.5-2 hours and had a hard time settling. I don't know if it is coincidence or if he just doesn't like the woombie. I'm going to try it again one more time tonight and see, but I was wondering if anyone else ran into the same problem

I haven't used a branded woombie - but both my dd & ds hated being swaddled. They both screamed in a swaddled & slept much better without. Give it another go but if you have another rough night I'd give it up personally.

How does he wake himself up? My son smacks himself awake with his hand so I swaddled him and instant sleep! In a swaddle, he can have a 6-7 hour stretch at 10 weeks. Without a swaddle during his naps, it normally lasts one sleep cycle (20-45 minutes). I am now trying to introduce a blanket comforter and he it works!

If he is waking from hunger, a swaddle won't help!

Is a woombie a stretchy zip up thing??
We tried one with my daughter and she woke and very unsettled a lot more in it. I put it down to the stretchy factor and the silly way their hands are sort of free still but in a frustrating way plus they have a big zipper under their little chins! I detest those sort of swaddles now lol I thought they'd be easier and more daddy friendly haha!

We found a double wrap by baby origami and found them excellent, we'll be using them again with this little one.

YES!! My son hates the 2 woombie's that I bought. Sadly because they are more expensive than others. The only swaddles that I can use are the Miracle Blanket (his favorite swaddle). He cannot get out of this swaddle. He also has a halo sleep sack kind of a swaddle with velcro to go around their arms so they can't move them. I really wish that he liked the woombie because it would be so much easier. Oh well......

We had the same issue with the Love to Swaddle Up swaddle - I think there was too much wriggle room as compared to the regular swaddle we had been using. Hated it! She woke up so often and wouldn't stop eating her hands the whole time.

Funnily enough we have changed her to a sleeping bag and had no troubles!
