Did my water break or did I pee the bed?!

Woke up just as though I had peed the bed. Really confused!!

Now trying to tell if that is what happened or if it could be my waters. So far I'm not having any contractions, but I've been up only about 20 minutes. I was up twice in the night to pee, and peed after I got up and found myself wet, so I wasn't emptied out, but this hadn't just happened either as it was basically my temp and not warmer. Smell-wise? I feel like when I have leaky pee (I check everytime there is leakage, because my water broke with my son and I had thought it was pee) and I smell test it, it smells a LOT like pee. I mean it is very definitely pee. This time I'm up in the air. It's definitely not a strong smell, but it doesn't have the sweet smell you hear associated with your waters.

GAHHH! It's too early in the morning lol I need coffee. Please ladies, tell me what you think.

Hard to say for sure. I would know if i peed the bed as i always get that freaky dream 1st, where u r on the loo and then u start to wake up as u r peeing. This hasnt happened to me in a long time... just thot i'd put that out there lol

i would mayb call for advice and c what mw/ob says. How much fluid was there? X

There is a wet spot on the bed, and my pants were wet. Just hard to say :/

Well peeing the bed is completely unlikely LOL except I'm pregnant and leak pee throughout the day often enough. But like I said there is a difference in the smells.

OMG! I thought I was the only one this happens to!

With your waters if they're leaking, they should continue to leak. If you lay or sit down for 5 minutes, and then stand up, do you feel any gushes?

Otherwise put a pad on and check it in 30 minutes to see if it's wet!

How early did your waters go with your your son?

Um, I gave birth to him at 36+4 or so, so my waters started leaking a few days before that. I feel pretty dry so far but am having contractions (Braxton hicks I spose), this is not abnormal.

I've been trying to move around to see if I have any more leaks. That's worries me though, because if it WAS my waters, it was a decent amount and I would be worried that there is almost nothing else in there.

Yeah it was a slow leak with ds. And if I even thought it was really my waters I should have gone straight in. But I couldn't tell that it wasn't pee, and I reasoned that I had an appointment in a few days, so I held off.

I wud at least ri g for advice but sounds promising, lie down for half hour if when u get up u trickle its likely waters xxx

I'm a nurse who has worked in LandD and I don't think waters smell sweet, they're kind of earthy / dewy.. Does that help at all identifying the smell? Like others have said put a pad down and see if you have trickles after lying for a half hour

I am going to call in just a few. I think that's why I had trouble iding with DS, because they didn't smell as I thought they would. So I held off going in.

I agree with the others. I think if it were your waters and enough to leak out while you were lying down, you'd definitely still have some leakage or trickling after sitting for a few minutes. They can always test it for you to be sure though!

THANK YOU ladies! Right before I was going to call my hubby woke, so I went in to strip the bed. It was definitely pee, I am so embarassed! But thankful as I really want baby to cook at least another week!
I had no more leakage after I had woken. I am still having Braxton hicks, but that us normal, I have them quite often. Thank you so much for the help, lol I hope I don't pee anymore in the wee hours!

Are u going by colour or smell?? Because waters can be straw coloured...when mine were leakin the other week i was so confused if it was waters or wee so i made my mum smell my pants he he he he cx

Yeah going by smell. It's like it got stronger as it sat while I waited for hubby to get up so I could strip the sheets. When I first woke up I didn't really think it was pee, but when I went in to strip the bed the smell had gotten way strong. :/ evil pregnancy bladder!

LOL my hubs didn't even bat an eye when I told him I thought it was just pee, he just started joking about getting me depends! Big butt LOL but he made me laugh at myself! Bless him
