Hi, i am directing this question to all the ladies who already have children. I ve heard that the baby could taste the food but i didn't really get how so i google it and found this article on the same way about how babies are influenced by the food their mum ate while pregnant . So, the article makes sense to me but the thing that surprised me is that if you read the comments, people say it it is nonsense, that they ate lots of veg but their child can't stand the view of it. So i thought i ll ask you, do you think your diet while you were pregnant influenced your baby food choice ?? Thanks xx

Here is the article.

i do not eat a very varied diet and am really naughty when it comes to eating fruit and veg yet my girls will eat anything i put in front of them and would rather have fruit than sweet stuff.
imo it is more to do with attitude towards weaning and making sure you offer them a variety of food, if they spit it out offer it again as it can take several tries of a food to get a child to realise it is nice. and try not to make a deal if you taste something you dont like

My toddler Will eat anything so cant really say but he loves marmite and Italian type foods which I do so maybe there is some influence there.

All four of my girls eat vegetables/salads/fruit and I'm a vegetarian and have always eaten these a lot in pregnancy. The youngest (3) is fussier but I assume it's just an age thing as the older girls like new things all the time.

I think its more down to what you offer them from weaning onwards, if you only give them healthy stuff and no junk then they wont know any different and will eat it. In my experience anyway. i ate healthily during pregnancy but also had my fair share of junk food, but i only feed my little ones healthy food and water or milk to drink, and as theyve grown up they happily eat it and like fruit and veg, and now eat a balanced diet of mostly healthy and the odd treat.
