Is anyone succesfully losing weight whilst BF?? I just wanna eat so much sweet stuff i really need to stop. I wanna lose2 stone. Is anyone succesfully dieting?? Not sure if it will effect my milk or anything?????????

It's not really a good idea to diet when exclusively breast feeding, You'd be better waiting till he's at least 6 months if not longer. Although it's true that BFing can help you loose weight, it can take a while to get going. I lost 2 stone just through BFing BUT I didn't lose much until Kaya was a few months old and it took 9-11 months to get it all off (of course now I'm putting it all on again!). Remember that it's 9 months on 9 months off.

I agree with above hun, It took me 12 months to get back to my pre preg weight after having my second. Though I wanst activly dieting, just eating as normal and exercising (well running around after 2 lo's!)
Just as I reached my old weight i got preg with number 3! So now doing it all over again! :dohh:
Theres no rush imo, you will get there xXx

Still eating the same as when I was pregnant and the last 2 weeks Ive lost 7lbs - although I was stuck on 12 stone since he was born until then. Its only just falling off now although Ive started to feel hungrier now.

I lost a stone the first 2 weeks and now i'm stuck at 13 stone eek!!!! think i'll give it a while and see what happens thanks girls xxx

i lost nearly a stone a few days after having him but most of that was baby and waters i think, ive lost another 12lb since then but ive not been dieting just stuck to my normal diet one think i havent done is eat as many crisps ive gone off them, but i did put on 5stone and i could hardly walk the last 2 months of preg so i could have lost that as im more mobile now. i do agree tho just leave it a bit longer see what nature does xxgood luck anyhowsxx

well I haven't weighed myself since i had my LO. I wanted to lose 2 stones but it's a struggle at this point. If you are breastfeeding, you cannot really deprive yourself from eating unless you just switch to bottle feeding.

Yes !! breastfeeding helps to lose weight, a lot of weight too
i put on 42lbs while i was pregnant and i looked 5 months pregnant after he's born
I was so worried that i would never go back to my normal size, lol
After 3 months there's no sign i would fit in my jeans ,i was in my maternity clothes for almost 4 months
BUT....
I tried my old clothes again after 4 months and THEY FIT ME !!!
Now I;m normal size again, well only have a few more lbs to lose but never mind it's in my boobies, lol

Don't worry hun, you don't have to go on diet, sure you will look fab again trust me
I was size 8 before preg and went to size 16 at 9 months and i lost all those lbs

I agree with everything that has been said above. I have heard that if you don't eat properly, it can affect the amount of milk you produce, because your body doesn't have enough energy.

I would just try and eat healthily - try and eat 5 fruit and veg a day etc, and the weight will come off in time. If it comes off gradually - it should be easier to keep it off afterwards. That's what I'm hoping for!!

x x

Im doing light exercise but not changing my diet apart from limiting the sweet things. I still eat quite a lot though but making milk is very hungry work!!
