When I first introduced breakfast into Evie's diet, it was baby porridge. Then she went off it - tbh she's never really been a big breakfast fan anyways, but I feel she should be having something more substantial than a bottle of milk to keep her going till her lunch!
Anyway, about a month ago, I started giving her Ready Brek or Weetabix with a yoghurt mixed in for more flavour and she seemed to really enjoy it. Great  BUT, the last week or so she's really gone off breakfast. I dont know if she's just gone off Ready Brek or Weetabix so I tried them out in different ways.. minus the yoghurt, hot milk, cold milk but still she's not keen.
I'd like to try her with some other cereals now and see what she makes of those but I really dont know what would be good ones to give her. Rice Krispies? Cornflakes? Shreddies?

For those with older babies, what do you give your LO for breakfast?

we have had this week: crumpets with jam. weetabix and banana or raisin splits.

I try to offer him 1 cereals at day. Either in the morning or before bedtime. I recently tried Cerilac - Nestle (I dont knw if u can get it where u stay) & he really liked it. It smells sooo good. I also give him Aptamil cereals with fruits mixed with yoghurt, & Milupa 7 grains. I give him weetabix & dry cheerios frm time to time. But I think the baby cereals have more iron & nutrients than adults ones. xx

we have:

- plain porridge, dorset cereal fruit porridges, porridge with fruit
- shreddies
- cheerios
- wheats
- weetabix (sometimes)
- french toast
- bagel
- scrambled egg on toast
- super jam on toast
- fruit and yoghurt

She tends to like things she can pick up herself - and is so cute picking up her cheerios one by one!

Mum_2b - that oat crisp is SO delicious...you've just reminded me. Is it the one with strawbs in it?

I am so glad I have just come across this tread, I am having the exact same problem as Mynx with my LO and breakfast. Thanks for the ideas ladies :)

Baby cereals cost a fortune over here! :)

Everything here cost a fortune. Prices here r almost double compared to UK. The cheapest jar is UKP 0.90, a pack of Aptamil cereals costs UKP 3, & a 900 g tin of Aptamil formula costs UKP 12. Ellas kitchen r out of question, will never think of buying them as they'r sooooo expensive for 1 meal of baby food :dohh:

Prices at M&P and Mothercare r also double, carseats, prams, etc. & we dont have any local alternatives for anything.

Medical service is also private & delivery is not free. No public schools for expats. So having a baby here is sooooooo expensive. It's one of the most expensive countries.

:hugs::hugs:
