Do i have the right to be pee'd off?

i didnt smoke when i was pregnant with my 1st baby yet she was born at 24 weeks gest & was extremely low birth weight,i went in to premature labour due to a urine infection,with all the stress of her being early & in hospital i took up smoking as away of trying to relax,i have continued cutting right down during my pregnancies & had 4 late babies after having an early 1 & they had good birth weights,

If someone wants to smoke then its nothing to do with anyone else as its not affecting the person complaining, not meaning any offence, sociaty is full of diverse people and choices and there will never be a happy medium its called conflict theory, lol

Anyway she jokes about it and says she isnt bothered about smoking as she wants a small baby

Direct her to my threads and she'll soon learn its not good to have a small baby!!!!!! And a small baby can mean under developed lungs, which will mean assistance breathing!

So glad I dunno your BF's sister. I know it can be hard to stop smoking, but the attitude that it will help her get a small baby is vile.

why would anyone want a small baby anyway?.. a midwife or doctor should talk to her.. even if she doesn't quit she could at least cut down..

I completely understand your anger. I've never been a smoker myself, but even my hubby stopped when I got pregnant.
I have had friends and family who have smoked while pregnant and when it comes down to it most of them know the damage they are doing, and us harping at them to stop won't make a difference. If their baby's lives and health aren't reason enough to stop, us telling them to won't make any difference. I've learned just to keep my mouth shut and try to look the other way because it won't make them stop. In fact, when I bugged my hubby to stop not only did he not quit, but he smoked even more because I was stressing him out about it. Then I got pregnant and he quit on his own, no pressure from me.

It sounds like she's completely clueless. Maybe she genuinely doesn't realise how much damage she could be doing? I'd still be pee'd off about them joking about it though.
