I've always let lyla sleep when shes tired and she has put herself into her own routine which varies daily but contains the same things iykwim?
So an average day would be
7am - wake up & feed
8.30/9am - 1/2 hour nap
9.30am - alert and awake time (plays with toys, i make her laugh etc)
12pm - feed
1.30/2pm 1/2 nap
3pm - sometimes an extra smaller feed (2 out of 7 days in a week)
3.30pm - alert and awake time
4.00pm - another smallish nap
5.00pm - feed
it goes on like this really feed, nap, awake, feed, nap awake. I mean sometimes she waits a little while to nap. But when it comes to bedtime I just let her do her thing, I bath & feed her and most of the time she will go straight to sleep but it isn't until late. I see a lot of people on here that have there babies in bed & sleeping by 7.30pm and Lyla NEVER sleeps that early, 9pm is probably the earliest she really gets tired and wants to sleep.

Just to add - I can't feed her any earlier because she won't take it unless her feeds are 4.5 - 5 hours apart (have spoken to peaditricion and he said its fine) so moving her last feed forward isn't an option for me.

Do I need to get a routine in place incase when she gets older she is constantly up late when she has school the next day or something or am i just being paranoid. Because I am very very baby led, I don't like setting routines or anything, i just go with her flow. But I don't want her to get into a habit of going to sleep late when she is older. Ideally I would like a kind of 7pm bedtime like I had..

Should I wait until she is older to try and start a routine? Do I actually need one or when she is older will she get tireder throughout the day anyway and go to sleep earlier? You can tell me if I am being stupid!! I just never really though of it until now..

thats sounds about right hun lol, u sound like u already have her in her own routine, babies vary when they are growing anyway there routine never sticks my son is 9months and he had a similar routine but wen he has growing spurts or gets a tooth it all changes, so dont worry about it hun u seem ta be doing a good job :) xx
