Do people think you are due soon?

This has been happening to me since about 20 weeks. People either think I must be due soon, and some have even congratulated me when I posted about a midwife appointment, when I was hospitalized for a kidney infection or posted a baby picture of my firstborn (you know people never read captions...)
I do share bump pics frequently and apparently people don't know it will get much bigger! :dohh:  It's quite funny and doesn't bother me, I just find it surprising.

Does anyone else get this?

Edit: Attached a naked bump pic, but definitely went through a growth spurt recently. Have been getting comments since 20+ weeks though!

No one has asked me if I'm due soon, but I've had people make comments about how I'm "showing early" (at 19 weeks, seriously?) and also how I must not be far along because I'm "so small" (at 20 weeks). Lol so different opinions there.

Hoya, with the photo you posted I don't think you look like you're due soon, I'd say you look about right for your gestation. If you post a lot of updates on social media, could people forget how far gone you actually are? My friend made a lot of updates and the pregnancy seemed quite long, or that she should be due much sooner than she was, just because of the numerous updates.

I hope that makes sense! I think you look fab :) xx

I agree with pp's you don't look due soon, you look lovely. Try not to worry about what people say, as someone already said people lose track of when your due it's most likely just that. I had so many comments about my size last time and it really upset me. This time I think, I'm pregnant, I have a bump (and extra padding!) that's all there is to it. So when people comment on my size I just laugh and say ohh yes I will be huge by 40 weeks they will have to roll me in to the hospital. This video made me laugh a lot. I needed that on days I was asked if I was carrying twins!

I was about 5 1/2 months when I went to vote and the election workers were all joking that I would go into labor while I was waiting in line! I just laughed, but secretly I was embarrassed. :-(

First pregnancy I got the "where is your bump?" comment all the time!! I did not show much until 30 weeks.

Yeah I sort of have to keep the feed busy for blogging purposes! So maybe to them it seems like a endless pregnancy. To me too this time around haha... Thank you! :)

Oh it does actually not bother me at all. It's nice to be called huge for a change since I usually get mean comments because I am so small..
Last pregnancy what was especially annoying is that some mean people thought that the fact I am not showing much must mean my baby is not growing or I am not eating enough...so stupid :(... Even this time I had to change my OB because she would make a nasty comment about my weight every visit and how I won't gain enough or lack nutrients because I probably don't eat enough. And now I actually gained more than I should :haha:

We don't look too far apart! I think I look fairly average this time around. Just not small like last time. I think many of these people are not very pregnancy educated either.

I look like I'm 6-7 months.
I look about the same now! I'll attach a naked bump pic! I like how round your bump is! Mine is starting to look more round.

Oh wow...yeah that would be waaay to early. Like I could not believe some people thought I gave birth to a healthy baby at 22 weeks...like they don't usually survive and they don't look that big...my son was clearly older in the pic.

Yep! People can't believe I have 14 weeks to go. Took this this morning :

I go massive in all my pregnancies, but all around my bump as opposed to putting on weight evenly.

Nope! Unless I'm wearing tight clothing you can't tell 😂

Yeah I've had that happen before where I posted an old pic and people thought it was my newborn.
Read, people. Sheesh.

Yep! To be fair, I do look pretty due but still!
My 26 week bump :haha:

I am having the opposite! I am have a caesarean in just four weeks (medical reasons) but people think i have ages left! My boy is transverse breach and low which is making me look small I think! He weighs 5lbs already so on target - when i say I am due in Feb people are shocked!! I feel big though...

One of my clients commented last week on how well I looked, then asked when baby is due. When I said end of April, her face dropped and she said "ooh, wow, you're pretty big given that you still have nearly 4 months to go!" Haha, thanks!

Sweet tart ur bump is amazing im jelous..my jus looks like flab urs is proper bump

Awe thank you very much!

I think you have a very cute bump <3
I just wish my son wasn't so obsessed with mine. He is very protective of my bump and is all over it :haha: He doesn't get that mommy likes to breathe and have moments of alone time where I have my own space.

I think you all look beautiful! And not in inch too big or small. My father in law told me last night I was getting fat. :growlmad: He means it in a good way, but nobody wants to hear that.

I am thrown by people's comments about that sort of thing a lot.

I felt like people started talking about my "bump" waaaay too early. I didn't see it yet. I would say something like "actually that's just my stomach," and laugh. I honestly think people were just focusing on my stomach more than they normally would.

At 12 weeks, when my one aunt found out (I was NOT showing) she said, "I thought you were getting a little chubby!" I was like... um... okay.

Then I've also had people tell me I look thin, that I'm not gaining enough weight. Telling me I'm not eating enough and pushing the "eating for two!" thing.

LOL. To be honest, it did bother me a bit before. Silly though that may be, it's true! Even when i started to see it, my bump still just looked like "pudge" to me. But now that it's getting a little bigger (i'm 17 weeks) I like it much more.

I am looking forward to being a bit bigger so I can really feel like it's a baby in there!!!!

But I feel you all... I think people have a very strange opinion of what they're comfortable saying to a pregnant woman about her weight... in BOTH directions.
