I make up water everyday for Alex but he never seems to need it. His nappies are still wet.
Does he need seperate water at this age?

Ethan is on formula (not sure about Alex) so my midwife said no because the bottles are largely made up of water. x

My HV advised me only if its really hot and they seem unsettled between feeds x

Hmm since she became constipated at few weeks old, LO has had water most days, virtually a sip som days, to a maximum of 2 oz others. I remember and make her take a bit in this hotter weather just to wet her mouth as such as she's 4 hrly, and I'd like a drink inbetween!

Big debate on need or not etc, they say FF mainly no and BF yes. as ours is made up with water, but i take milk as a feed and water as a drink..? No right or wrong hun

thats funny, BF youre always told no aswell
I will just keep making it up for him then, no harm...

Its odd because my HV has told me to give Oliver 2 to 3 oz of water every day. He does take it some days but others he isn't intrested. Its all confusing when we are told different things. He was constipated when told this and she said this will resolve things and he goes most days now. I say its your choice hun, just make sue he gets some when its hotter. Take care :hugs: xx

My HV and doctor told me to give Phoebe 2-3oz of water a day especially if its hot weather.

i offer it to rhys in his sippy cup regular he may have a mouthful now and again just to clean his mouth more than actual thirst if i'm honest

Under 6 months I was under the impression that they didnt need any but my HV moaned at me for not giving some every day so I have no idea.

i dont give alex water all the time normally just days we are going out in the car because it gets quite hot .

I was also advised by HV to offer water everyday.x

I offer it on a hot day and she'll take 40-60ml. Breastfed babies don't need water but some FF babies do, as I understand. (Breastmilk is something like 90% water)
