Do you change your baby's diaper at night? How frequently?

I don't change her diaper, we use pampers night time diapers.. I would never get her back to sleep if i changed her.

Obviously if she pooped i would change her but for pee no way.

in a baby under 1 a bone dry nappy in the morning could be a sign of a uti but sometimes my los nappy feels dry but its not its just the nappy has soaked it right up xxx

When my daughter was a newborn...before I realized that she was overstimulated....es I would change her...then we never slept because she was screaming because we disturbed her. So now that we have learned this, I"m not about to disturb her unless it is absolutely necessary. To answer your question, I think most of us started out changing our LOs when they were tiny. Some of us have learned that it overstimulates LO and chooses not to do that to them, our family and ourselves.

ETA: My 3.5 yr old son is still in diapers at night (we have tried all suggestions to get him trained at night but he is too deep of a sleeper) I'm def not about to wake him up!

No, why would I want to do that. I have more than 1 baby to deal with during the day, I think nursing him every 2 hours during the night and being up with a toddler at 5am with no chance for a nap is good enough......?

If it was back in time where we all slept in a cave and I had female family to help me with my other stuff during the day and EC was the only method than sure, but until then, I need my rest and my baby doesn't care.

Why do I get the feeling this thread was started as a holier than thou statement? "I wake up and change and potty" etc. Was this necessary?

Ummm yeah and tbh SarahBear, it's not the first time you've said something that came off as holier than thou. I am just as much "NP" or "AP" as you but the attitude really sucks.

If all I had was my easygoing 6 month old to deal with, all that stuff would be super easy for me too, but not everyone has just one baby to deal with, not everyone has an easygoing baby, and quite frankly everyone has their own choices and an angry baby will wake up and let mom know!!!

Are the huggies one good? I might try them next time.. I have her reg diapers stocked up i'll never have to worry about buying diapers until she's over a year old but i do have to go out and buy a package of over night diapers once a month as the other one's don't hold her pee!

I have both huggies and pampers stocked up too, She fits both brands fine.

The only time I ever set an alarm was to get up to change her because she was severe allergic to her wipes. We had to go to cloth wipes and hadn't had an issue since. It had nothing to do with her diapers.

I would be setting my alarm for that too, I don't like my babes in pain !

But if she has no rash and complete fine, then she's fine eheh!

They're amazing! I use either or during the day, but the Pampers Baby Dry just weren't cutting it overnight the way that the Huggies Overnights were. They're seriously so, so thick and absorbant. My DD has no night feeds but still pees a ton overnight!

I use baby dry during the day since i stocked up on a ton there fine during the day but the night time no way... So i bought the pampers over night they seem to be working but i fine they fit a bit weird..

I'm trying the huggies over night's next time she needs new over night diapers- thank you!

My LO is the same she seems to pee a ton over night even if she didn't eat she has maybe a couple oz's a night shes slowly cutting out her night feeds (thank goodness)... even if she doesn't eat which happens some time she still pee's..

she's like her mama.. I have a funny story kinda off topic though.

I had surgery last Thursday before rolling me into the OR they asked me if i needed to use the bathroom to go then so i go and pee and then they roll me into the OR they get me on the table start put the plugs on my chest and putting the leather belts around me ( so you dont fall off the table during surgery) and i kept thinking in my head i was so scared almost shaking and i'm like omg im sure i needed to pee again and i was like no no its my nerve's and i kept thinking OMG what if i pee while im put to sleep who knows what your body will do when your put to sleep not like you have control so i had to tell the nurse's i had to pee after they just hooked me up to everything... they were prob like this girl cant be serious AHHAHAHAAH! they had to unhook and walk me to the bathroom with blankets wrapped around me! ...

I really did need to pee though and i obviously had nothing to drink from 8pm( when i went to bed) I was only allowed to drink after surgery so my bladder was nutso lol

Only in baby club where you would get looked down at for not changing a perfectly fine diaper in the middle of the night

My LO would have a freak out session if I dared change his diaper at 12,2,4 and/or 6am & yes those are all the times he wakes up..if not more. I'd rather not be awake more than I have to.

Hehe, if I had to set an alarm to change my baby in the middle of the night, I would quit parenting
I'm also definitely not going to test the waters and try changing him at 3am, as suggested I should... I love sleep
OP should do whatever OP thinks is best and let us all do the same.

hadley pees a lot in the night but the diapers keep it off of her skin.

no offense but i'm too busy and tired to hold her over the potty all the time. especially in the middle of the night.

TBH this natural parenting thing has maybe gone a smidge too far for some people.

I REALLY don't understand any other reason for this thread?

1. She was looking for other uppity parents to agree with her and bash the "lower kind"

2. She simply wanted to enjoy a good ol' baby club argument (Who doesn't?! )
