Do you change your baby's diaper at night? How frequently?

Maybe im just a slummy mummy but I didn't even think to wake him to change his nappy! Call social services! :winkwink: a BIT of a judgy thread. Robinator - we need a rhyme.

We've never had much problems with nappy rash, but I hear a bath in cooled chamomile tea works wonders...or soak a nappy insert in the tea and put that on for a bit (if using cloth) and of course loads and loads of nakey time!

I wouldn't dream of changing my LO at night unless she's poo'd! Call me a bad mum, but she sometimes stays in the same nappy for hours and hours...we use cloth and her bum's always dry no matter how full the nappy is. She gets changed right away when she's done a poo though.

It's up to you, really. If you have good overnight diapers and your LO isn't prone to diaper rash then you probably don't need to change her at night (assuming she doesn't poop at night), but if you want to change her and the changes aren't bothering her then there's no reason you need to stop. As she becomes more aware of her environment and her sleep cycles mature you'll likely find that she becomes harder to put back to sleep after a diaper change, though.
 
:rofl: Can't believe this thread is still going. It wouldn't be a bnb 'disagreement' without a limerick, where are the usual contributors?

I was told at the hospital to wake LO at whatever time to feed her - she just screamed at me, refused any milk and went back to sleep... never again will I make that mistake :dohh:
 
I change LO every time he wakes up for a bottle. I've gotten good at changing him while he's eating ;) I feel guilty if I don't change him and he's been having some pretty bad leaks lately.
 
Not since he was 2 weeks old and stopped pooping at night.
 
Knowing how "lazy" my 18month old.... She doesn't rise off her own accord till 9:30-10am!! If I woke her any earlier even for her breakfast let lane to change her bum she would have a right bitch fit :haha:

I swear my daughter is a toddler stuck in a teens body when it comes to sleep :blush:
 
Can I just say: :rofl: Holy shit, this thread is a trip.

Change your baby all you want in the middle of the night, but just don't start some thread later asking for sleep help. Just sayin' :shrug:

It might have been around 6-7weeks, I realised I was disturbing him with the nappy change so I stopped, if your baby starts to settle for the night earlier, then you can probably stop doing it. It is a hassle to do it in the middle of the night when I'm barely awake my self and can't eveb see properly.
 
So as far as I'm aware nappies ABSOrB wee. So no they aren't left in wet nappies. Which if i'm honest, would totally defeat the purpose of them.
Unless its poo i let my babies sleep peacefully.
 
This is my first ever limerick, apologies if it's crap;

There was once a thread about nappies;
All the mum's started to get snappy;
To change at night;
Is just not right;
All because a mum was being a bit judgy
 
She's across the hall, I'm asleep, and as her poo smells like roses anyway, how the hell would I know if she pooed? (but if I did, I'd change her, lol)

Can I just say I have never, in her life, used any diaper cream and she's never had a rash. Baby Super Bum!

So...when to babies stop pooping at night?

I hope mine stops soon so I can quit worrying about those middle of the night changes...I mean, so DH can stop those middle of the night changes....

Honestly, I was having to wake LO to feed every 3-4 hours per hospital discharge directions, and I would change him every time, but it was almost alway1time. Since he gained SO well at his last checkup, I am easing up on the night feeds (doc said okay) and maybe he will poop less at night?
 
Eamon night trained himself out of pooing by about 6 months. Liam is good for the most part but occasionally one will slip out :lol:
