Ie, avoiding alcohol, shellfish etc? If you are pregnant, will it cause harm that early? If it's a long journey TTC for us, can't be "acting as if" for 2 weeks every month!!

ive only been ttc for 2/3 months now, but i dont, i was sooo drunk last night lol, did think about it this morning though with a little regret. but as you said could be here for a while so cant spend half the month in a bubble x

I did for the first month or two, and after 10 months I lapsed. Not that i drink very often anyway but I'll have a couple if out. Saying that...if I had definite symptoms and was late for AF, i would stop immediately. I'm a firm believer in no alcohol at all during pregnancy.

for the first 6-8 weeks of a pregnancy the baby is feeding off of an egg yolk sac so drinking eating foods that should be avoided dont actually do any harm this early on. its once the placenta has formed between 6-8 weeks gestation that you need to avoid these things cos then the baby is feeding from your nutrient supply. xx

That's good to know....because although I don't wanna act like I'm pregnant until I know I am I do worry about drinking etc in the 2ww...but I won't anymore - thank u! xx

thats ok! annoying really, cant drink before ovulation as it can affect ovulation, but can drink in the 2ww as it wont affect the baby until after 6-8 weeks but thats only if pregnancy occurs, can drink your sorrows during af but then have to be tetotal again up until ovulation lol confusing! xx

Wow Loolabear, never knew that, thanks!

thats ok.

i like to know things so when i get my head onto something i spend as long as possible to find out as much as i possibly can on it so know quite a bit about stuff, whether it be ttc related, pregnancy related or just about general old crap! xx

oo i didnt know drinking effected ovulation, i always have a little glass of a weekend, :\ x

I haven´t drunk since I strted ttc before the last miscarrage, so that would be nine months now. But then I don´t miss it much either. What I do miss is not thinking about if I am or not preggers so much, I miss my normal clear head!

I dont drink anyway, and yes i do lol :haha: i think im crazy i go to lift something heavy and then i think ...what if am PG...ill get OH to do it insted, i havent avoided any foods as yet though lol, i do find myself putting my hand on my belly and hoping their is a new baby bean in theor ...ive lost the plot  x

I dont really drink except for xmas and birthday. Its my birthday coming up 2 days before my testing day this cycle so its good to know I can have a sip on my b'day.

Thanks for the info!

xxx

I do. This is my first 2ww but I prefer to just be extra careful. I had an IUI so that was money spent trying to get to this point. I'd hate to regret anything when all was said and done.
