I would really like to get one, but I'm not sure it will fit in the room to be honest. I have to get two cots in and a bed for me to sleep on so DH can sleep when he has to go work. I thought it would be nice so I could feed one twin while keeping an eye on the other twin. Not sure if to adapt another chair that might just fit in, but I think it must be comfy at least and the arms have to be the right height (if I get a chair that is not officially a nursing chair). Anyone thinking about this?

My mom bought me a chair when DD was born.
To be honest I didnt use it when she was really little but from 3 months until now I use it every night! IDK what I would do without it :) I love it!
Although Im not nursing anymore, I stopped when she was a year, I still rock her to sleep every night. I think it helps her associate those times when she rocked in it and nursed.
Plan on using it with this one for sure! :)

I bought a rocking chair (not a nursing chair) and I used it to feed DS every single day, even at 15 months. I'd say yes if you can!!

ETA: I don't have it in the nursery though, it's in the living room, so I can watch TV. I wouldn't put one in the nursery at my house, as we cosleep so it's really boring in the baby's room, just diaper changing and toys...

This time for sure! My parents handed down a rocking chair that she used with me but it was so uncomfortable! Too narrow and too straight it was impossible to nurse a baby in. I ended up using a bean bag on my bed.
I will invest in a nice chair this time.

I had a rocking chair in my son's room, but always ended up on the couch downstairs. It was the most comfortable place to be and I needed the TV on to keep me awake in those early weeks of hourly feedings.

I got a Poang chair from Ikea before ds was born. Fed him in it every night and once I stopped nursing it was still part of our bedtime routine as we'd sit on it for the bedtime story. Used it for dd too and still cuddle her on it each night before she goes into her cot. I'll use it for this baby too.

Had one, never used it!
I'd go and sit in front of the tv to keep me awake

I say yes definitely get it. I didn't use mine a tonne at first because I fed mostly on the lounge or in my bed but after a few months I used it everyday. My DS is 2 now and I still sit by his cot for a few minutes every night. I couldn't do without it now. I've got #2 on the way and am buying a second one for the new baby's room :)

DH just asked me if I wanted one yesterday!
I would like to get the ektorp armchair from ikea. We have the sofa set in the living room, and I'd like to just move it over there afterwards.

I'm going to put a rocking chair in the nursery

No - I'm formula feeding but, even then, I don't think I'll want to be sitting in a pitch dark silent nursery for feeding. We'll probably be on one level (moving this week hopefully) so I'll just take her through to the couch or stay in bed.

I am considering this one too, they have it being a rocking chair or just a normal chair.

What makes me really want one is the fact of having 2 babies. I wouldn't want to take one in the living room and leave the other one in the nursery as I wouldn't relax. Then again really doubting if the chair will fit and where I would put it afterwards!

I have a lazy boy rocker/recliner that we keep in the living room and I've used that to nurse in with both my kids. I love it! It's big, overstuffed, and super comfy. It's too big for our bedroom so we'll keep it in the living room and I'll have to walk up there to feed baby once baby arrives but whatever works, right? And it's comfy enough that if I do fall asleep in it, I can sleep fairly comfortably and wake up without a crick in my neck. I keep a small two-drawer cabinet nearby and put extra diapers, wipes, bum cream, nursing cream, nursing pads, burp rags, and extra jammies/onesies in the drawers so I don't have to be running downstairs every time baby needs a diaper change or spits up. I also have a small lamp on top so I don't have to be turning on overhead lights at night. Works great.

That's what mine is! A lazyboy rocker/recliner! I didn't get an overstuffed one though as I'm short. We got a medium size one that is really too big for me because the only ones they had that fit a short person were old person looking...

I used a dutailier (sp?) with my son and honestly believe it saved my back. It was also amazing rocking my son to sleep in it. Sigh..miss those days. Now he's a 4 year old who says he's busy when I ask for a hug lol..

Im hoping to get one and pop it in the living room , When i nursed DS i spent most of my time downstairs in the living room feeling uncomfortable on the sofa :nope:

I remember when i used Mothercares feeding facilities one day and i loved that chair, this time i am defo getting one, breastfeeding really did my back in from endless sitting around...

xx

Never needed one. You said feed one twin while watching the other, two together at same time?

Yep we are getting one, wasn't going to but OH wants one so he can play his xbox in comfort lol!

Yep we will get one. If we didn't have room in the nursery I probably wouldn't bother. I'd like to have a nice comfy chair in the nursery anyway as I'm sure it will be used for all sorts as he, and future kids, grow up. I was going to go for a cheap substitute, like an Ikea Poang or something (used to have one and they are freakishly comfortable) but there are nursing chairs online for around £110 with great reviews so figured we might as well go for one that is ergonomically designed and fit for purpose.

I mean I prefer to be close to the other twin if he is sleeping, whilst feeding the other one

I have seen the poang, its 300 something euros for a rocking chair version and seems comfortable. I like the fact I could put it in our room after.
