Do you say thank you?

I do when I remember but when I don't, I don't think I'm being rude, just means I've forgotten x

as many have already stated i use it as a more of a like button, tho i do 'thank' everyone that responds to a thread ive started for a least there initial post as a thankyou for popping in regardless of whether they agree with me or not. then i wont thank on side convos that pop up unless they amuse me and i wont thank if someones added a sad tidbit, because it feels wrong to 'like' at that point, if that makes any sense.(eg. i started a post about did you have epidural last time and then some people said no it went poorly i thanked them for that post and then i asked what went wrong, when they answered with a something sad like 'the baby got stuck' or something i didnt 'like' that post) i also like peoples posts on threads i havnt posted on but lurked.


come to think of it im not really much of a venter and i dont think ive started a single thread about something that people have strong opinions about, ive been generally happy thus far with nothing to complain about than aches and pains and such so all of my threads have been chill

I always try to thank people on my threads especially if im not writing anything after their replies, that way they know ive read and appreciated their reply.

I do a bit of both depending on the situation, sometimes I thank everyone individually and sometimes I just post a reply thanking everyone. I wouldn't not thank someone for not agreeing with me either, unless they were rude about it.

I think sometimes its a bit dangerous to thank everyone separately as you might miss someone and make them feel bad. This actually happened to me once there was a lass who used to post a lot about problems she was having and I felt really sorry for her and posted nice messages and advice on her threads and like 3 times in a row she thanked everyone on the thread except me! I still have no idea if she was ignoring me on purpose or what but to this day if I see one of her threads I don't even bother reading it!

Sounds really petty to me now reading that back lol, but at the time it really upset me.

Aw, I don't think that its petty. I'd feel the same too!
