If you know that someone you are due to go visit with your LO has a cold - do you still go? Do you stay away or does LO need to come into contact with the germs to build up their immune system?

Just wondering really.... (my SIL had a cold recently when we were due to go visit and I didn't want to go...)

Actually, when people have a cold they're mostly contagious before they even get any symptoms. I'd go, but I'd probably not let them pick her up

We don't really go visit much (no car) most people come here. But if I think they are contagious they don't come

when katie was born my dad had a cold and stayed away, but she was newborn!! if its just cold i'd go, but depends how bad it is xx

Heck no, but not really for Char, for me. My immune system is crap, especially when I'm pregnant, lol. She doesn't really catch colds much.

I usually go if it's just a cold but stay away if it's more serious, like chickenpox etc.

Now that Helena has had a horrible cold this past week, I am staying away. :D

it depends, if its close family, i.e. my mum and dad, then i don't worry, since maddi we all seem to send stuff round  any one else then i stay away! x

I would usually go if it was a cold, shes around a lot of babies a lot of the time, at baby groups and I think it helps build up their immune systems. I mean if it was a really nasty one I'd probably keep away! x

Id stay away i hate having a cold and i hate seeing Ellie with a cold. Benn brings colds back from nursery all the time. Im my eyes they have load of time to pick up germs its awful to see them struggle to breath when they are so young.
