Hey :hi:

Ok so i am a bit late. Me and my OH choose Edward as our boy name but we have now changed our mind (bit late on i know) to Oliver.

But the girl at works sisters baby is called Oliver... but i dont personally know her as a friend. Do you think they might think that i am chopying their name?

Not at all. As you said you don't even know her. I love the name Oliver.

thats the name for our wee boy tho we're gonna call him Ollie...i love it so much i wouldnt worry about them thinking you are copying them my mums neighbour hav just called their dog Ollie but im still not for changing haha xx

I wouldn't worry about it, doesn't sound like it's a close connection - you can't avoid all the names of all the people you know of!
I love Oliver, one of my faves!

I like Edward and Oliver (a girl on this site's called her baby Edward Oliver, and I think that's a really nice combination). I love Eddie as a short form of Edward.

As you don't know the person in the office, I don't see how they could think you are copying them. Even if they did, they should be pleased at your good taste.

definitely not! it's not a close connection, and after all, your baby name is for life, and you do have to love it :D

It's not copying at all. Plus if you really love it for your baby, then no other name will do. x

I really dont think they will say you are copying after all as u said u dnt kno the girl at all! im having a girl and she will be Lacy ive had the name for years I kno pretty sad since i was about 13 but heard it and i just loved it, if someone turned around n said to me they were calling their baby Lacy i wouldnt care i wouldnt change my mind for anyone once you like it its your name for your little bundle of joy!

Love Oliver -- i say go for it! If it was a close friend or relative i would say no... but not just someone you know of.

I think it will be fine. My best friends daughter is called Isabella and we love the name Isobel and if we still like it when the time comes we are going to use it anyway. :D

I agree! Honestly I don't care who has what names because I'm going to use whatever I love regardless. The names aren't copyrighted. :haha: Oliver is ADORABLE by the way. :hugs:

One thing I will add, is if we decide to go with Isobel, we won't be mentioning it before they are born as it gives them time to question our choice/ get in a huff over it, so we won't be telling anyone until they are born, and then just saying "This is Isobel" :D

I agree -I love Oliver and dont think it is like copying your colleague.

When I was preg with my last son ,my neighbour (only a few doors away) was pregnant too. Babies were both due mid march and she knew she was having a boy, whereas we were on team yellow. I found out at 8 months preggers that her son was to be called Ben - the only boys name we had agreed on and loved lol and I was desperate to pop ours out first lol. It wasn't to be, her Ben was born about a week before mine lol -but we still called him Ben. In our hearts he was Ben and I would have regretted changing it. Both Ben's are best friends now lol -it's cute actually ,especially since another Ben has moved in down the road (same age too) and more often than not, I have three Ben's in playing now. Strangely enough though, they all attend different schools, and there are no other Ben's in my son's school nevermind in his class lol.

xx

I wouldn't worry about it. If you are really set on the name don't change it.
