Do you think it's possible to do 'too much' at 10 weeks pp?

Basically OH took LO to see the grandparents for a few hours and I absolutely blitzed the house :) I was really pleased with myself as the housework had totally been getting the better of me but now I'm sat with my feet up in an awful lot of pain :( I know they say not to do too much for 6 weeks but surely I should be ok now? I have been hurting more in the last week or two and I can barely carry the baby in his car seat but I really thought I should be ok hoovering and stuff now :( it hurts so much. There's no oozing or anything and the wound itself has healed and looks very neat so it's not infected so I can't see there being any point in seeing a dr but the pain is horrid :'(

I thought I was fine as well -- doing loads of spring cleaning, etc., at around 10-11 wks as well and paid for it with pains in legs, pains in tummy, etc -- we've both overdone it --it's not recommended to do anyting with bending, etc., until at least 12wks, even if hoovering doesn't feel like exercise, it is.

Try and take some solpadeine or paracetamol and rest a bit more -- sorry, but we think we're okay and we need some tlc time!

(wait until you get your AF, that's fun with a c-section scar!)

best wishes

Oh I'm on my second AF already 10 weeks pp (how rude! lol) I think we like to think we're superwomen :) If we didn't during pregnancy we feel obliged to do so now haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one (not glad you're hurting though lol) I'm double glad I'm not back at work :) couple of tv and sofa days for me and LO then x

I am so glad to read this - though obviously not glad that you're in pain  Just glad that I'm not alone! I'm pretty much 100% most days now, but I still have times where at the end of the day I go "Ugh, I did too much!" and then mentally slap myself. Then feel guilty/worried because I expect to be "over it" at 10 weeks post-partum. The daft thing is that I know full well it's 10 weeks after major abdominal surgery, and healing fully will take a while! But somehow I just forget that

I'm 14 weeks on and still have those days. I was told not to try and overdo it for 6 months. I was doing so much that 3 days after my 3rd af, I started bleeding again, and hasn't stopped yet :( 3 weeks now :( went to the dr they said its common and a sign of overdoing things. Definetely take things a bit easier!! xxx

i think i over did it as well. i was feeling great four weeks out, so i resumed my regular chores (not exactly heavy lifting, but going up and down stairs, normal bending, etc.) The last couple of days, my incision has been "twinging" with pain (almost burning feeling). nothing looks amiss. incision looks perfectly healed, good color, not red or swollen. I am just worried i may have tore something inside that i can't see from the outside. the doctor just said take it easy. hmmm...

Definitely. I am 13 weeks pp and still get pain and discomfort. Obviously i not in as much pain but still reminder things not back to normal.

It's 11.5 weeks now and the pain has got worse, I was fine for ages and it's just come back all of a sudden. I'm getting shooting/stabbing pains right where the scar is as well as deeper pains. Yesterday I reached to put the laptop down from my knee to the floor and winced so hard I let out a shreik, it was horrid. I might tell the dr just so they know and just so I can get a definitive answer on whether I should push through the pain (I have a tendency towards laziness and don't want to use it as an excuse not to exercise the baby belly away) or whether I should genuinely be resting it and taking it easy :/

:hugs:

C-sections are major abdominal surgery. It took me several months to get back to 100%. I was on bed rest for the vast majority of my pregnancy so that did contribute to a longer recovery but I was warned that while I could return to normal activities after 8 weeks it could take even longer to FEEL normal. But you'll quickly notice that the good days start to outnumber the bad. :flower:

ETA: but if your pain is that bad I would see a doctor just in case of infection. Hope you feel better soon.

In case you wondered I gave in and went to the drs after 12 weeks pp when the pain was making me cry, I'm getting short sharp stabbing pains in the wound but because it's not weeping I wasn't going to bother. Once I realised I couldn't even put the laptop on the floor without screaming I thought I'd better go. Anyway she said in the op they cut nerves and it's the nerve endings rejoining that's causing all the pain. She said definitley NOT to carry LO in his car seat as that's far too heavy, that I'm not being lazy and it's my body telling me not to do stuff :) glad I checked...I was so sure she was gonna tell me to man up and push through the pain and that I was a lazy oaf LOL.

Sometimes i still hurt in my incision area. On the inside. Esp at night when i finally get to rest. It takes a lot of healing time. Even now if i lift heavy things i get pain. Take it easy honey it will get better eventually
