Do you think these names are okay?

Hey :)

We've decided to go for a double-barrelled last name, as I'm Tarrant and he's Saul and we can't figure out which to use. I've come up with a couple of names; what do you guys think?

In the blue corner, I'm pretty set on Ramsay Tarrant-Saul.
In the pink corner, I'm liking Gypsy Tarrant-Saul (like Gypsy Rose Lee) and Beatrice Tarrant-Saul.

What are your opinions?

I love Gypsy, and wish I could get OH to agree to it! Its so pretty!

Haha, just tell him it's Gypsy or something disgusting :P I have Romany Gypsy roots, so I though tit would be quite fitting :)

I love Ramsay and Beatrice. I like Gypsy but prefer Beatrice x

Thanks mrsraggle :) I keep switching between the two as to which one I like better! Still lots of time to decide :D

Where are you from?

Gypsy can have a lot of negative connotations in some areas. I realise none of them are true, and it's a lovely idea to name your child after your heritage. I just think that kids are cruel, and I can see a few nicknames coming from it :(

Beatrice is a lovely name too :)

@rafwife, I'm living in Portsmouth at the moment, so it might have some connotations, which I was worried about, but I'm pretty sure that "pikey" is more the offensive term used here! I think Beatrice might win for me, though!
I'd like to give it a middle name, too, but with the names I've picked, and a double-barrelled surname, I think it would be a bit of a mouthful :P

I like Gypsy and Beatrice. I too have Romany heritage, Gypsy is definately not an offensive term IMO. I think that a short middle name would go fine with your choices, such as May/Mae, Hope, Grace, Rose (although maybe not Rose if you go with Gypsy :haha:). Seriously though, I think that Beatrice Grace sounds stunning :winkwink:. xx

i like Gypsy for a girl. Not a fan of ramsey for a boy, but in saying that the names do "flow" quite nicely together :) x

How about Romany/Romani instead of Gypsy, maybe as a middle name? Or Roman for a boy? And have you thought about Saul-Tarrant? Flows better in my opinion. I really like Beatrice as well though.
