I'm planning a trip to the trafford centre and I'm just wondering whether my 19 day old LO needs to wear a hat once inside. I never wear a coat when I go and always feel warm and I don't want her to overheat. Or should I just put a thin hat on her?

Probably depends on the level of air conditioning, as well as whether or not you will be wearing her or not. If the A/C is cool, a nice, thin, snug hat is the way to go. But if you are going to wear her in a wrap or sling, unless it is SUPER cold A/C, I'd go without.

She's going to be in her pram (carrycot) with a blanket over her.

I personally don't think it's really necessary as long as she is nice and snug with her clothes and blanket. I don't think it's going to be particularly cold in there and there won't be any wind or anything xx

If the back of her neck seems chilly, you can always slip one on later. I found that the only shopping I did that ended up making my LOs cold was grocery shopping. Always made sure they were snug and warm for the refrigerated isle, and would pop the hat & socks off once in the car or back outside in warm weather.

The Trafford Centre gets quite toasty! I'd put a thin hat on for going there but when you get inside, whip it off. We went last weekend and it doesn't half get warm, especially if LO is wrapped up with a blanket in their pram!

Oh and take no prisoners with the pram! I got so annoyed with people walking right across me! Started off by manouvering the pram so I wasn't in people's way but got so irritated by rude people that I gave up! Particularly in the food court!

Oh and have fun!

I wouldnt think so. It should be pretty warm.

Personally I didnt bring my newborn into shopping centres till she was 3 months old. She was born in winter though and theres too many people with nasty bugs around. The matron at my hospital actually warned us all about it.

I wouldn't, not at the Trafford centre. It's like a greenhouse in there! You can always take one and put it on if needed, but I'm sure baby will be fine with clothes and a lightweight blanket. Have fun!

I would only if you are going grocery shopping as the fridge/freezer sections can be chilly x
