I do
I just remember pushing and that big incubator by my bed looming there threateningly like a replacement for my arms. The nurse trying to explain about the special care unit to me she was meant to come before my contractions got too extreme but I went from 2.5 to 9 cms in less than 20 minutes and by the time they realised it was all go and I was in so much pain I could barely listen. It's the incubator that was there that scared me and the 'silent birth' she came out with a gasp and then it was silent. they quickly got to resuscitating her and the whole time it was quiet and I was just lying there no one was paying me attention they were just all around Maria getting her breathing. Then she was wheeled from the room still quiet to be put on CPAP.
She's doing so well, still very small for her age and she is considered a 'late preemie' but it was the scariest most haunting thing.
