Does anyone else's dr do a butt load of screening and health checks on fetus?

Can you switch hospitals/prenatal care?

I've had pregnancies with both a civilian OB/hospital and a military midwife/hospital in two different states and nothing has been mandatory. The midwife got grumpy with me when I said I was declining the Rhogam shot (but accepted my decision and just had the nurse verify hubby's A- status from his military record) and they want me to get a copy of my last pap smear so they can cover their rear if something goes wrong, but everything has been up to me. (I also haven't been offered the NT scan with either pregnancy, but the military hospital provides free genetic blood testing to all pregnant women instead)

So strange how everywhere is different! It does seem weird he's pushing for more blood tests to rule out things that has already been tested.

I am in the US and haven't had that much blood work and things. I had some blood work around 11 weeks for my first appointment, have only had 1 ultrasound (well 2 but the early one was not through my midwife and got it elsewhere for reassurance), and then the glucose test where they also went ahead and tested for anemia. I will be due for a pap but won't be doing it until my 6 week appointment. I don't know of any other tests they will be doing. These are the same things I had with my daughter. I think it must depend on location and the doctor/midwife.

I wasn't even offered the NT testing, and did not get an ultrasound at my 13 week appt. I feel like I should've been offered more, but clearly it must not be mandatory?
Unless the progenity test checked for downs...I didn't think that was one of the things it tested?
I'm so confused with all the testing. They don't tell me what to expect. Altho it's my 4th pregnancy, it's my first one past 6weeks and with confirmation (at least 3 chemicals) so I know nothing!!
