Does anyone have a diagnosed medical reason for painful ovulation?

Very brief history - we have been trying for almost 3 years, last miscarriage was May last year with D&C. Due to medical complications we have been unable to try since June last year, but are finally starting to plan leaping back in.

For the last few months my ovulation has been more painful then my periods :( I'm not charting exactly, but having a quick look on fertility friend it would seem that ovulation is occurring a week later then it used to.

A few days before my CM will be worryingly thick, then it will become EW and lots of it (sorry, TMI I know) and then the sharp pains will start. My cervix is so low that I can't even sit down properly. I have to tilt myself at an angle or else it feels that the seat/chair is pressing on my cervix!

If this was just the odd month I could shrug it off, but it seems to be becoming my 'norm' - does anyone have any insight to stop me worrying myself into a frenzy? Thanks in advance :flower:

Have you had a laparoscopy to rule out endometriosis ? I have extremely painful ovulation which is due to endo - on the day of ovulation I have to sit down really carefully as it feels like my ovaries will explode and uterus fall out if I sit too suddenly !

Thanks sugarpuff - although I know it's rarely hereditary, lots of women on my Mum's side suffer badly with endo. I have been pushing for a diagnosis for the last few years but because my periods aren't really heavy, they are refusing :(

I've never had particularly heavy periods really either. Are you able to see someone else for a second opinion ? Endometriosis is known for causing early pregnancy losses too :(

I was referred to NHS FS and I was given a lap and dye, when I questioned endo they shrugged it off. When I persevered I was told that it isn't routinely screened, no indication blah blah blah - have had this battle with GP too :(

I've had this discussion with my doctor too. I have horribly painful ovulation that lasts for 4-5 days every month. He said that if it is endo, they could go in and remove it, but you have a very short time before it comes back. He also added that when it does come back, it usually comes back worse, plus you then have scar tissue also so you may end up worse than when you start off. He mentioned that as long as the tubes are clear, the endo isn't as big of a deal....it's only when it is in the tubes that it becomes a big issue.
