Hi ladies, sorry for barging in here.

I haven't been able to find much info in 2nd tri since a lot of ladies don't have their prams yet and thought more of you might over here.

I ordered the iCandy Strawberry today after falling head over heels in love and want to get my order in so I get it before baby is here.

My question is, I'm concerned I've been ripped off. I've seen a few things on the net from googling that people have paid around £700 for it.

I've been told £1,020 for everything which is carrycot, pushchair, car seat, adaptors, flavour pack, foot muff, parasol and changing bag. I've paid £200 deposit and will pay remaining balance when it's ready to be collected.

Just wondering if any other ladies have one and if this sounds about right? I'm just worried I've paid well over the odds for it and didn't think this was possible with iCandy as they were mostly fixed prices.

Would appreciate any experiences. Thanks.

Go onto the iCandy website...there is a catalogue with price lists. Any extras not on there eg car seat you should be able to work it out by googling prices xxx

Thank you, didn't realise there was a price list on their website :dohh: xx

I paid £850 for mine, got carrycot x2 flavour packs, car seat, adapters and foot muff x

What you paid is pretty much exactly what we did for ours at John Lewis - OH's parents actually did the paying, TBH if I'd have known the amount in the store at the time (FIL went off to pay and seem to think it was better value than he'd thought!) then I would have queried it - I only knew how much they'd shelled out when the receipt came a few weeks later. But as it was John Lewis and with no experience of shopping around for anything like this I didn't query it ultimately.

That included buggy, carrycot, any adaptors, flavour pack, carseat, maybe something else....MIL has since bought OTT parasol and arctic footmuff for the carseat, but that's another story!

For £725 we were getting carrycot, seat unit, car seat adapters, car seat, flavour packs. Cancelled in the end though cos we ordered in march was supposed to come in April and still hadn't arrived in June. Hope you have better luck :-) its a lovely pram x

Ps I think the changing bag was £95, parasol and clip £30 and the footmuff £85. Xxx

Hi hon. I paid £780 for mine at john Lewis as they price matched it with a local retailer (who couldn't guarantee the order would arrive). That included pram, carrycot, cabriofix carseat and adaptors and 2 flavour packs (one for seat unit, one for carrycot)

Without the price match i'm sure it was still less than £900 at John Lewis. Is annoying you can't see the iCandy prices online tho.

I love my pram though, and can't wait to start using it :) xxx

Hi Hun, I ordered mine from baby planet at the baby show and paid £730 for pushchair, carry cot, adaptors & car seat plus 2 flavour packs in grey. Considering you got footmuff, changing bag & parasol I'd say it was about right.

Beware tho, like some others I ordered in February, it was due in early may and it came this week, on my babies due date!! Was v stressful and I almost cancelled the ordered but I do love it and can't wait to use it now!!

Xx

I saw it at the baby show in Birmingham ... For the basic package it was just over £700 and for car seat etc it was over £1000 and that was with discount ... I didn't get one but they do look lovely ;)

completely o/t but what are flavour packs? prob sound really thick here but i have read it a few times when reading about icandy strawberry x

It's the coloured bits eg the hoods and linings. Means you could buy more than one and change the colour of your pram/pushchair.

I'd say that sounds about right.

We paid (off the top of my head) £630 for the pushchair, carrycot, flavour packs and adapters but NOT including the car seat. We travelled to Norfolk from London to buy ours as we managed to find a shop that had one in stock ready to take away. Had been given such vague delivery dates by other companies (most predicting it to be in just before due date) that I didn't want to take the chance on ordering one.

I believe the shop that we bought ours from often has them in stock if anyone is still struggling to get their hands on one.

I'd say provided it's going to get to you well on time for baby's due date then you have got a great deal. These things are like gold dust at the moment! I started out looking around for the best deal, but eventually it turned into more of a case of "if I can find one in stock I will buy it at any cost!". Luckily the shop that did have it in stock were pretty well priced anyway.

Just a tip - it might be worth asking the shop if they will offer another pushchair on loan if yours weren't to come in time. Some shops will offer this, whereas others won't, and personally I would want the peace of mind knowing that I was covered if the iCandy hadn't made it in time.

Thank you very much everyone and sorry for not saying thanks sooner!

I checked all the prices out and it's right because it includes the foot muff and changing bag. My mum and dad are buying it for us and I just had a bit of a panic thinking about the cost and wondering if it should have been cheaper.

I know all about the stock issues and that's why I've ordered it just now. I'm due 2nd December so should be OK. I had a chat with the lady in store about it and she said if my due date had been any earlier than late October, she wouldn't have taken the order. The shop has a pretty good reputation so hopefully I'm ok. I had originally decided on the cherry but fell in love with this after pushing it around.

The flavour packs are basically the hood and cover lining. You need to buy them for both the carrycot and the pushchair. It's basically the covers and it's a bit of a farce as you have to buy them. It would make more sense to just add them to the cost of the pram as you can't do without them. I quite like though that I can get a different colour a few months down the line if I fancy a change.

Thanks again everyone.

What colour did you go for? I have got earl grey, love it! Really like the purple colour too though and do like the idea that I could change colours later on.

We paid £665 for the buggy, carrycot, 2x flavour packs and the adaptors. Ordered in earl grey from baby planet in April, they said delivery would be late aug/early sept.

Baby's due mid oct....I hope this pram comes on time! Xx
