I bought my OH an xbox for his birthday at the end of march and now it is playing up, the controller keeps disconnecting so he can't play for more than about 30 seconds without this happeneing.
I bought it brand new for £220 and it was garenteed for 6 months so it would run out at end of sept but still garenteed atm. We have just spoken to gamestation where we bought it from and they want to replace it with a pre owned one!!
Surely this is wrong, if I bought a brand new one and it breaks while still covered by a garentee should they not replace it with a new one not a second hand one?

Anybody have any ideas xx

Ring xbox 360 repair helpline. Search online for the number, The xbox has a year warrenty and they will send ups to pick it up and get it fixed for you x

Replacement under warranty has to be like for like so if it was brand new they are taking the piss offering you pre-owned. Midnight fairy is right though if you ring microsoft xbox helpine they will collect and fix it for you.

As the others have said, the warranty is with the manufacturer  They will repair or replace it for you.

Gamestation are taking the pee by trying to offer you a pre-owned unit. At the very least they should offer to contact microsoft to arrange repair/replacement for you, but if you can do that yourself then you cut out the middleman

Cheeky buggers! I'd complain to gamestation HO about their poor customer service!

Yeah I agree, they should be flagged for offering you that, it's against your statutory rights and the warranty agreement!

Cheeky buggers... that is totally wrong! They need to replace with a new one. Call Xbox direct as mentioned above as they will replace it for you.

you have one year manufacture warranty contact manufacture and take from there,

Game did that to my BIL. Replaced his NEW one with a 2ndhand one!! Which then got the RROD. Thankfully OH knows how to fix that so the SECOND time it got RROD he just fixed it himself.

His controller to keeps disconnecting and it was at first to do with the batteries. Dunno why it sometimes does it now but he will usually just use the connection cable.

This is what we did in the end! They eventually agreed to replace it with a new one! When we went into the shop to collect the original manager we had spoken who wanted to replace it with a preowned one was a really arrogant to us, won't be going there again lol

thats really poor customer service my OH bought a "brand new" ps3 out there got home set it up only to find a game in it so it was obviously pre owned it was some fuss to get his money back

Call Microsoft directly to handle the warranty information.
Also, are the batteries in the controller dead? I know this seems obvious but it's usually the most obvious solution.

No they're not dead that's what I thought at first thought he was over reacting lol but it must of been a fault with the xbox there are loads of people talking about it on some xbox forum! xx

Xbox will sort it direct for you no problems however if they cannot fix it they will send back a reconditioned unit with a new 12 month guarantee for you x x x
