hi girls, was just wondering if anyone has been referred before?

im now on my 15th month ttc and i went to the Drs yesterday but the stupid receptionist put me in to see the nurse:dohh:, who couldnt refer me so iv got to go back later in the month to see a the dr who will refer me. i just dont know where it goes from there and what sort of things they will test?? if anyone knows would really appreciate it thank yooooou xx:hug:

Think they do the normally day 21 tests, make sure you ovulate, run some tests to make sure hormones and throyids are ok.. but cause its been 15months i think you should ask the doctor to be referred to a gyno as its been over the 12month mark!!

i did have some bloodtests taken in nov last year to check my hormone levels which came back fine. think they tested progesterone, estrogen and something else x

I had Day 21 and Day 2 blood tests taken. As you said they measured progesterone, estrogen, fsh and prolactin. They also recommended my husband go for semen analysis but that may have been due to his medical history, operation for descended testes as child. On second visit I also had an internal scan to rule out endometriosis and PCOS. Hope this is of some help. X

it depends on your doctor and your PCT.
I have to have bloods done, cd1, 21 and 28 and husband has to go for SA before I can get referred. This is despite the fact I already was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago

hey, i went to my docs after id been trying with my current partner for 1.5 years, he refered me to the gyno who referred me for a day 21 blood test, a HSG, swabs for infections etc and DP had a SA. all of these tests came back normal and showed i ovulated but my gyno decided to put me on 6 months of clomid anyway. i ovualted with the meds but failed to concieve so then i got put on the waiting list for a laparoscopy and when they permormed it they found endo and removed all that, so now im recovering it and once AF starts again ill be starting another 4 rounds of clomid. hope this gives you a bit better of an idea!

Endometriosis is a condition in which bits of the tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grow in other parts of the body. It falls onto surrounding organs, causing swelling and inflammation. This repeated irritation leads to the development of scar tissue and adhesions.

hey i got this off the net.......

Endometriosis, a cause of female infertility, is a condition in which endometrial tissue, the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus, grows outside the uterus and attaches to other organs in the abdominal cavity such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes. Endometriosis is a progressive disease that tends to get worse over time and can reoccur after treatment. Symptoms include painful menstrual periods, abnormal menstrual bleeding and pain during or after sexual intercourse.

The endometrial tissue outside your uterus responds to your menstrual cycle hormones the same way the tissue inside your uterus responds - it swells and thickens, then sheds to mark the beginning of the next cycle. The blood that is shed from the endometrial tissue in your abdominal cavity has no place to go, resulting in pools of blood causing an inflammation that forms scar tissue. The scar tissue can block the fallopian tubes or interfere with ovulation. Another result of endometriosis is the formation of ovarian cysts called endometrioma that may also interfere with ovulation.

The cause of endometriosis is unknown though there are a few theories that suggest possible causes. One theory suggests that during menstruation, some of the menstrual tissue backs up through the fallopian tubes into the abdomen where it implants and grows. Another theory indicates that it is a genetic birth abnormality in which endometrial cells develop outside the uterus during fetal development.

A laparoscopy, an outpatient surgical procedure, is necessary to confirm a diagnosis of endometriosis after a medical history review and pelvic exam. After the initial diagnosis, your physician will classify your condition as stage 1 (minimal), stage 2 (mild), stage 3 (moderate) or stage 4 (extensive) based on the amount of scarring and diseased tissue found. Based on the stage of endometriosis, your physician will determine the best treatment plan for you which may include medication or surgery, or a combination of both.

it doesnt mention that when you have all that blood just floating around in there it sticks to your organs and it can cause other organs to stick to it. this can interfere with the path of the egg making conception almost impossible, when they do a laparascope they can part these organs and put them back to where there meant to be like they did with me.

hope this bit of info has helped in some way
